I know... I'm pathetic... I have a real obsession!

first one is the BobaFetBoost (FINALLY!). This one really kicked my ass. I built it and it didn't work. tried a few things and no luck so I built another... only to face the sm problems. Finally figured out that the design I was working off of had a mistake in it... that's what I get for trusting info from the internet!

this second one is my new improved 'Tube Crusher' design... I like it a lot, but I'm probably going to build one more cause I want to experiment a bit more with 'more gain' mods!

hey thanks.
folks seem to gravitate towards that design... I'm very happy with it.

I'm assuming it's a combo OD & Comp pedal? It's a nice combination pedal because they compliment each other. Very cool graphics....don't know if you will have any trademark issues (I guess only if you are selling them). What are the switches doing, changing voicing via cap & resistor changes or something more interesting like germanium transistors?

well, eh-hem...
afa trademark... yeah, I wonder about that b-cuz technically the art is a parody... and s/b protected as such... after all how did andy warhol get away with painting the cambell's soup can? I mean, I'm not exactly putting it on my new brand of soda...

I've had so much interest in this pedal that I'd like to build/sell a few in order to fund my future experiments, so if any budding lawyers read this... speak up please!

afa switches... there's not really a practical application for germanium transistors in a tubescreamer ... but there are some germanium diodes in there!

one switch (fat) removes a cap that sets the 'pinch-off' point for distortion. in short, it distorts your lows - giving more gain and a fatter sound.

other switch is a 3way diode switch. it has the std ts808 setting, a diode lift in the middle position (tons of gain!!!), and a hybrid germanium combo in the final position.

thanks again for your interest... just out of curiosity - what's on your board?

It is the one profession where LAW can over ride common sense, common decency and truth!! All for profit.

The closest thing I have on my board is a Route 66 but I really haven't been using boost pedals much since I got my Vintage Modern. Once in a blue moon I'll use an old SD-1 or an MXR M108 to push the front end a bit. I used them all the time with my Plexi but I sold that a few months ago. If I ever get around to fixing my Vibrochamp I'll be using them again.

ya know, I've built a bunch of boost pedals... and I haven't been all that crazy over any of them. from the rangemaster to the sho to the micro amp to the mosfet.
guess I'm just not a boost pedal guy... just not enough drive... if I use a pedal it's usually the tubescreamer into a mildly overdriven tube combo.

vintage moderns a nice amp...
