Every single day, I get comments on my Youtube videos of people saying that I'm somehow faking, and that it's not really my voice...

Stupid, right?

I could consider this a compliment, as its saying that I'm just as good as the pros...But when a person thinks its fake, their comment may also turn others away.

Well, I got so tired of this happening everyday, that I decided to do something a little different. I picked a song that I knew really well, and I did it completely in MY style. I did it the way that I would have done it if the song belonged to MY band.

Then I threw in some nifty video effects as usual...

Ryan, you're amazing. I've got a few questions and a suggestion for you. How long can you sing like that before you get hoarse? Do you get hoarse? Could you sing that way all night? You've mentioned that you're in a few different bands, any of them gigging yet? Honestly I can't understand at least 90% of the words. It might be something that I have to learn somehow. Is it possible to do a youtube video with captioning, like they do for the hearing impaired? It might help me (and others) learn what you are singing. Keep putting out these videos. I fully expect you to be fronting a touring band someday. I doubt there's too many people who are capable of doing what you do...

Thanks Bob...Well, when I was in my crappy band about a year ago, there were some days where we'd be practicing nonstop for like 5 hours, and my voice would hold up fine. The band I'm in now is lazy, which seems to be the case with me a lot lately...

As far as lyrics go, putting subtitles would take a long time...Also, another reason I don't use subtitles is that when I pick a song to cover, I'm picking it for the vocal part. Some of these songs have lyrics that I personally don't agree with, so posting them would give the impression that I agree with the lyrics.

I, the honorable fisherman bob, grant you, Ryan Strain, the freedom to sing whatever song you want, whatever way you want to sing it, with whatever lyrics you want to sing it with. If anybody gives you sh*t about changing the lyrics tell them you now have the freedom to do so...
As far as lazy bands, DUMP THEM. You've got bigger and better things to do with your music career.
