Tired of band headaches and gigging? Itching to express your musical freedom in a hassle-free environment where you just show up and play? Want to meet other experienced players who want nothing more than to play? Well, here's your chance. This is an Organized, Freestyle Rock jam for intermediate and advanced players (age 35 and older) looking to start from scratch and take off.
THIS IS NOT A COVERS JAM OR A BLUES JAM. We are aiming for that flexible, creative energy that sparks from spontaneity and musical improvisation, rather than songbooks and blues progressions.
These weekly jams will be held at JamSpot studios in Somerville MA. The room we have booked features a stage, drum riser, full drum kit, bass rig, guitar amps, PA, and lights. The fully-equipped backline includes gear from Marshall, Fender, Ampeg, Hartke, Yamaha, Zildjian, Shure, JBL, and more. When you want to rest your ears from the jam and relax, there is a lounge with couches, a kitchen and billiards room.
Your first jam is FREE!
SO COME ON DOWN, PLUG IN, AND ENJOY THE LOST ART OF IMPROVISATIONAL JAMMING, IN AN ATTRACTIVE, HASSLE-FREE ENVIRONMENT! Just bring yourself, and your instrument*. We’ll take care of the rest.
Jams are Thursday evenings, 7:00-10.00pm. (begins September 17, 2009).
1st Jam Session is FREE.
Subsequent jams are $10 per jam.
