For those who care, I just posted a short version of a jazz song I wrote; Jaunty Boy.
Joe Cavanagh, Bass player for the group, was over here on Friday, and we laid down a new bass track for the song.
. . . first 2 minutes only . . .

Well done! Jaunty Boy is an aptly named piece.
Thanks for posting.

Hey I remember that song! Nice little ditty. Reminds me of a laid back Sunday Morning.

I think it would benefit from the bass player "walking" the bass, rather than emphasizing your rhythms the whole time.

If you felt like emailing me YOUR guitar track with nothing else, I could show you what I'm talking about.

Yeah, I'd posted 'Jaunty Boy' a year (or 3) ago here, minus the bass; you still remember it, eh?
:)
I know exactly what you're saying; I had to let my conga/Djembe player go, for that very reason.
.
I think maybe you're hearing 'Jaunty Boy' with more of a blues - kind of influence than Joe?
That's what I love about some of the songs we do: they are in-between styles, and can be mixed with a choice of styles.
.
My friend Joe Cavanagh (our bass player) had practiced the song against either me (live) or against a recording of me.
.
When we recorded it, he saw on the screen that I had a muted click track, and asked to record using it.
. . . . and the cymbal track . . .
Being a bass-player, he got all excited when he heard the song in that context - it gave him an entirely new emphasis to play against.
.
Anyway - the posted recording was against the click-track, which he was hearing for the 1st time.
.btw,
I can't contact you from here (I won't pay for a membership); but you and I are already M-y-s-p-a-c-e friends . . .
