hey all this work in the past 6 years is starting to pay off. I went and placed all over the place, was even willing to drive 60 miles to get into a band and low and behold I get this phone call this afternoon and seems this band is looking for what I have to offer,same kinda songs,and get this...WE ARE ALL AROUND THE SAME AGE !!!!!!!! yup 5 years difference between the 5 of Us. and the really cool part is they practice right up the road from Me (12 miles),even have a small 5 piece kit I can use so I won't have to tear down and set-up.all I can say to Ya'All that are and have been seeking is stay the course as it will work out eventually.sorry but I am so axious and excited. widh Me luck. and as I get more imformation shall post here .

Awsome man, a 12 mile drive in Texas aint nutin. Hell I drive better than half that just to buy gas and groceries. LOL
Most of our bandmates live 30 - 40 miles out so I hear what your sayin.

I hooked up with my first guitar player here, already had my bass player/singer lined up, then answered an ad on Craigslist and the second guitar and keyboard player fell into place.

I hope it all comes together for you as quickly as it has for us. Since we rehearse at my house, I don't really have to tear anything down...much.

yeah I know. was really cool when they told Me they rehearsed in Brownfield I was waiting for them to say "LUBBOCK" and BTW Sana I have heard LUBBOCK called and reffered to as a lot worse but yeah Man I live out here where the hoot owls breed with the chickens. hell even the cyotes come by every now and then to play fetch. is true You should see it, I throw a rock they haul; ass.... ROCK ON!!!

ok here is how it went....
supposed to be at the "practice" @ 7pm, I arrived @ 6:30pm, ( is a drummer thang to show early) met the Keyist and visited for about 10mins,bass player shows as well as guitarist,30 minutes later other guitarist/vocalist shows ( running late ....boss). got together and started playing. I have NOT played country music since 94-95. was told it was "Texas Country Rock"... ??????????? last band I heard that fit that discription was ... Little Texas ( did I give My age away on that? ) LMAO
any..who.....
They started tossing Me a bluesy type rythm line and BAMN I was ...
G-O-N-EEEEEEEE. played for about 2 hours ( different styles,country,rockabilly ????,blues,jazz,ROCKKKKK). was told upon leaving that I would MOST definatly be getting a phone call Saturday....well no call Sat nor sun or even today. so while I was in town I went to the place We "jamned" @ and inquired about Friday night ( as I was so axciouslly awaiting word... IN or OUT???) this is what I was told...NO BS....

"well I spoke to "Guiarist/vocalist this morning ( same Dude that said I would DEFINATLY be getting a call from) and He said He spoke to ( other drummer) and He ( other drummer) said He would stop lieng and start making the scheduled practices so We decided to stick it out with ( other drummer) as He already knows Our stuff and what songs We play. ???????????? I was standing there thinking....( oh You SOB!!!! how the f&^% You EVEN dare to have Me to take Myself from My Family to come and "audition" as You Yourself told Me that the "other-drummer" was O-U-T LONG before I was even concidered for the postion for His mere lack of concideration for the band by not
keeping to the scheduled pracices and lieng only to find out He went out that SAME night to PARTY....and You used Me to threaten Him into straighting up???? WTF?????) Man I wanted to hit Him.....
however I kept My composure shook His hand and thanked Him for the opurtunity and walked to My car and calmly drove away.
well as it would seem the call I was waiting on I FINALY recieved,(when I got home ) was asked if I could make "practice tomorrow evening, I said " I thought You spoke to the keyboardist and decided to stay with Your old drummer, He replied ...huh? what are You talking about? I told I had just spoke with ( keyboardist) and He informed Me that the two of You had spoken earlier this morning and decided to stay with ( old drummer). He replid...WTF that sorry SOB. I have yet to speak to any of the guys as I had to go out of town (job) for an emergency and just got back an hour ago and saw where You had called Me as has the bassist and guitarist and keyboardist. I am calling the bassit than going to call that SOB and get to the bottom of all this BS. You in the meantime hang in and keep playing like You did the other night and learn as much as that new country stuff We talked about and I WILL call You tomorrow as I am gonna put a stop to all this BS RIGHT the f*&^ now.


oooops was I bad for saying what I did? should I have NOT said anything? I felt like He knew and so I was about to let Him know how I felt about being used but than He seemed really PISSED so I felt if He was lieng than why would He have called to ask about Me making practice? this way if He would have showed and I had not been there He now knows why. sorry for all the rambling just sucks things went down like they did. as for Me I feel like I was bitch-slapped to the ground. so now I just pick Myself up,dust Myself off and continue on as I know there are people out there looking for a drummer that has what I have to offer so I shall keep on practicing on My own and learning new stuff and searching.
really had fun this weekend learning some new Nickleback,Theroy Of A Deadman and some old rock tunes, ever tried Black Betty? is a hell of a jamn if You are a drummer...LOL

I swear sometimes people treat prospective band members like prospective girlfriends. I've auditioned for bands that were shopping for new bass players and hadn't told their existing bass player they were shopping. One band asked me to join and I said not interested. The had already told their bassist he was history. Oh well, there's other bass players. If these women call you back I'd tell them you only play with men...

They sound fickle to me.. sounds like you're dedicated and deserve better.

Childish is the word I would have chosen, but I agree completely with Z.

Sounds like time for a real heart to heart talk with all the members in one room.

Ive been used in this way a couple of times myself. For me it ussually just didnt work out, cause just like with women once the trust is gone its gone.
