We had a great time playing Friday night. It was Tonys one year aniversary singing with the band.
And, as most gigs seem to be, it was a learning experience.
The Church had bouncehouses for the kids, a dunking booth, hotdogs, burgers and fries, plenty of cold drinks, snow cones, watermellon etc. And it was all free.
All involved, though it was very hot out were helpfull and cheerfull.
We played two sets, then when we had about two songs left. The event organiser said he wanted us to continue to play during the fireworks show.
Man we had to dust off some tunes we had not played in over a year, but we finnished the third set without any repeats.
Talk about professionalism and dedication. Eric and his wife both came out, and Eric played with so much emotion, despite a family tragedy that beset them that same day. No way I could describe how much respect I have for the both of them.
I am going to attenpt to post a couple of pics, but you all know, I tend to screw it up so, stand by.

I tell ya Andrew, Eric is the MAN in my book. He is the only real musician in the band. He's probably forgot more about music than I'll ever know.

EK: Landmark has paid us well before, but this one was a benefit we gladly played for them.
In the process we are set to play for them at least two more times.
These Ladies and Gents all seem to be truly good people, and all the young men whom are associated with them are very respectfull.
Despite the drenching heat (102 I heard) it was a pleasant experience.

Great pics, looks like great fun. Was the man with the headband playing harmonica in that one pic (second guy from the left)? When is your first gig without music stands? It's nice when a band starts coming together and GIGGING instead of LANGUISHING in the garage.

Looks like you had a great time George, but you gotta lose those music stands lol. We print the set lists in a huge font and tape them to the monitors so the audience can't see them.

To be honest, I dont know if we will ever lose those damned stands. LOL
I have been working on getting to know the songs better, and for much of the set no longer use mine. I have been at the guys to get the stuff commited to memory, Yet I am not going to push too hard. It's just nice to have guys to jam with. For the song writing chemistry and awsome cooperation I get, I can ignore a stand or two.

Bob, we dont have any harp parts, That would be Ray, our lead singer.
I am not sure but he may have been doing back up vox for Tony on that song.
