Where the hell are our values? I just heard that Simon Cowell might be signing on with American Idol for OVER $100 million per year. How on earth is he or anybody worth that much money? Couldn't he survive nicely on a paltry two million dollars per year? And how did ONE MAN (Bernie Madoff) possibly get away with stealing over 65 BILLION dollars? Don't we have ANY FRIGG'IN VALUE SYSTEM IN THIS COUNTRY? Who the hell is watching out for the common man? Where the hell is the damned oversight? Rules? Regulations? I firmly believe in free market capitalism WITH A HEALTHY DOSE OF OVERSIGHT. What we have in this country is a shameful dose of INCOMPETENCE. Later...

We can thank Texas Senetor Phil Graham for the loss of banking oversite he went before congress calling the seperation of investment banking and commercial banking that was instituted by Roosevelt in the 1930's obsolete and out dated and thats when the fall of the banking system started its downword spiral that culminated into last years bubble burst and it was all based on greed. We as Ameicans have got to understand that this irresponsible consumtive way of life can not last forever. It is our fault you, me and every American citizen it starts with buying American and this means we are going to spend a little more because as we all know American production cannot compete fairly because of the very expectations we have put on ourselfs.

Don't worry, the good ol' judicial system if fixin' to make all that lost money back. They just passed that law where they don't have to make up excuses for pulling us over to check our seatbelts. Now they can pull us over for just that. I feel the economy recovering already.

This is the problem in a nutshell. We pass laws that are inane. You could also say we pass laws that are insane. When I visited my father we started to try and figure out how he gets his medical needs covered by the various insurance policies he has. Also how he can qualify for medicare. In order to figure out this MESS we have to hire an attorney to navigate through this CRAP. We pass complicated legislation with mounds of red tape and in order for any of us to figure it out we have to hire attorneys. WHAT KIND OF FUC*King crap is this? GOd damned lawyers are everywhere. They permeate EVERYTHING. Why the hell do we need lawyers to figure out an insurance policy? An insurance policy should be no more than one paragraph like this: The Acme Insurance Co. simply guarantees that ALL your legitimate health claims will be paid in full IMMEDIATELY. THERE ARE NO PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS. You simply pay us on time and we take care of the rest. PERIOD.

Lawyers should be drowned at birth. Otherwise, they grow up to be politicians. :)

Nobody is watching out for the common man... I think Jimmy Carter might have been the last politician who actually gave a shet about any of us, and look what they did to him...

Capitalism? Basically a system that relies on greed and consumption.. severely regulated is the ONLY way it can work, and still it's short term and destined to fail - considering the planet has limited resources.

We need two things to survive:

1. A healthy system that is 100% renewable, including clean food and water, renewable energy, a seriously controlled population (which means ZERO growth eventually) and recyclable waste.

2. honesty, integrity, and an end to class war and extreme wealth disparities.

Given that these things will NEVER happen, because those who are greedy and screwing everything up already HAVE IT ALL...

We're Fooked.

free market capitalism WITH A HEALTHY DOSE OF OVERSIGHT.
.. might be deemed as socialism or communism which makes capitalism the opposite, right? Big brother watching. Who would these "over-see'rs" be? The Gov't? Theyre already corrupt. lol.. What kind of over-seers would they make?
The concept of capitalism is: YES Simon Cowell CAN make millions of dollars a year as well as football players and baseball players and rock-stars. It's either that or we're all equal; and I believe that's called communism, or socialism or something like that..
Praise God, Pass the ammo.

Amen :D

I don't begrudge anybody for making anything BUT what has Cowell done to justify him making over 100 mill a year? Has he discovered a cure for cancer? Has he found a peaceful solution for Israelis and Arabs? Has he figured out a more economical energy solution for auto mobiles? All he does is critique vocalists. And what the hell are his qualifications? Has he ever sang professionally? Does he play any instruments? Has he ever written a song? Has he played in a band in front of Hell's Angels and not gotten his ass thrown out of the bar? Has he gotten courtesy cards from any Hell's Angels? Has he gone to jam sessions and ended up playing all night and been asked for his autograph? There's NO friggin way he deserves 100 mill. Our VALUE system DOESN'T EXIST. Right now there's a God's gift to humanity cleaning my father's bed sores who deserves at least 99.9 million dollars more than fuc*ing Simon Cowell...

I dont disagree. And it's definitely not fair. It just is. And yes, it sucks. .Bad. What to do about it? I dunno.. Maybe somebody can come up with a radical idea to change things. I'm no politician, and I dont know the game, but by-God if i did, I'd sure as f**k be making some waves.. (right before they threw me out of office, I'm sure..) Yes, there needs to be some changes.
Sorry about your Dad, Bob.

It doesn't bother me if Simon Cowel makes $2 off of each of 50 million viewers. None of it is mine. I've never watched a complete episode of Idol. I watched part of it one time when it first came on and couldn't stand his arrogant a$$ and so, never watched again. :x
