From what I learned in my Earth Science Class at Berkeley, we actually might still be in the midst of an Ice Age; we're just caught in a little "heat spell" and the Ice Age isn't actually over yet. At least that's what the CO2 patterns showed us from core samples taken from some remaining glaciers. Pretty neat stuff.

yah CotyAE 10000 years ain't sh|t in the grand scheme of things, but 10 years or so is a pretty rough time frame, I have a beehive on my front porch...but we don't want it there...might be wasps coexisting near by too...I love my redneck ghetto existence...and its quite funny how we're all worried bout global warming, when similar things are happening on Mars...but surely we can't be helping things out at all...can we? I may not be a hunter, but I understand that in our country with more government then guts there are enough rules in place to keep populations from being hunted out, nothing like scientific research in the antarctic that's some real fun right there

Biologists say up to a thousand species of plants and animals go extinct everyday, the majority of them undiscovered insects. Most of this is due to the rapid deforestation of the rain forests. Man won't quit until this planet is covered in concrete.

Well, the deforestation isn't necessarily due to man trying to expand per say, it's more due to agriculture than anything (particularly the beef industry).

I'm getting tired of everybody blaming "mankind" for the ruination of everything on this earth.
Yes, 10,000 years is a blink of an eye in the big picture of the cosmos and the universe. We all tend to think of one lifetime as being the 'end-all' to everything, which indeed it is for one person, and we really don't give a sh*t past that (except for our children's futures, and maybe their children's children), but in another 10,000 years, our sun may go super-nova and it wont affect anything other than one tiny speck of the universe. The red galaxies are the ones traveling away from us (longer light wavelengths) and the blue ones are traveling towards us (shorter light wavelenghts) . The entire universe is in constant motion, and we're here for only a split-second in this big explosion, so it is relevant to realize what Coty and Ted said is true, that we are just in a 'brief' warm spell on the Earth in the grand scheme of things.. The "big picture"..
ok- off the soap-box..end-rant..

Woah come on guys. I wasn't knocking hunting so long as it is to eat ok.

The sinple fact remains that if there is no cross pollination there are no plants and its a fact that the bee population is dwindling and they have no clue as to why. It could be as simple as the seasons that are screwing up? One hot day here and everything comes out. A warm day and you hardly see a thing 'bug form' flying near me.

So far as I know you cannot eat palm trees :D
