This Satuday I will see Robin Trower at the Royal Oak Music Theater. This is the place that he recorded his excellent double-live CD last year. I'm geeked, I've seen Trower many times, the first time 35 years ago opening for King Crimson.

Sounds like a great show, jimmy. I envy you. I've never seen him, but I love a lot of his work.

Robin Trower at Royal Oak Music Theater. I took my son James after attending an early Father's Day barbeque/pool party. Trower opened with “Twice Removed From Yesterday” and proceeded to play a set that featured most of his greatest songs including “Somebody Calling”, “Day of the Eagle”, “Bridge of Sighs”, “Hannah”, “For Earth Below”, “Alethea”, “Little Bit of Sympathy” and “Too Rolling Stoned”. The only song missing was “Daydream”. Gone from the set was the blues Robin had been exploring for the past 15 years. Trouble with one of his Marshall’s threatened to diminish the show but Robin simply shut it off after letting the techs work on it for a while. The sound was weak at first as the soundman scrambled to get a decent mix, but by the middle of the set it had improved. James looked bored most of the night but hopefully he got something out of it.

Jimmy, I saw him last year in Memphis. I love Trower, Bridge of Sighs was and will always be one of my favorite albums.

Im glad you got to see him. I didnt realize that he was touring again til I saw your post here. I noticed he was using a lot of FullTone pedals at his Memphis show and had gone from full stacks to half stacks. I was able to get up front and catch the blow from his amps. Its great to hear a master like that play.

Any guitar heads on here even you young dudes should check him out if you get a chance.
