See. That makes me feel bad. That's why I was asking. I guess I've always been around dogs and cats, and I know I never treated them badly, but I've seen them do this kind of thing in their sleep before. I've seen them growl, claw, grit their teeth, even bark, but always surrounded by loving owners.
Not necessarily to this degree though. I still have a hard time believing that the dog is traumatized. I just thought maybe it falls into a deeper sleep than most dogs and doesn't wake up so easily by his own body movements. I've seen other vids where the owners of the dog seem really nice.
If you look closely, the dog wakes up and the first thing he sees is his own tail and it spooks him and he takes off running. Just so happens he's still groggy and hits a wall.
I know if it was my dog, I would laugh, then comfort him and ask if he was ok, and probably give him a treat or something. Which for all we know is what happened when the camera shut off.
I had a similar experience once myself. I was dreaming about something, I actually think it was a situation where someone was chasing me and after me. In my dream, I turned around and took a swing... In reality I rolled over and hit my girlfriend who was lying next to me right in the nose. I felt SOOO bad!! I didn't know what to say!!
She knew I was asleep. She was still up watching t.v. At first she was like "WHAT THE HELL!!".. I didn't know what to say at all. All I could do was just say "I'm so sorry!! I don't know what the hell happened!! I was just dreaming and all the sudden POW!!
It didn't take us long to laugh it off. About a minute. But we were both pretty shocked that I had such a real reaction to a dream.
Of course, her family jokingly gave me sh*t about it for the duration of our relationship. "So Ted, you like to beat on women huh??" Ugghh.. "Yea you know.. Gotta keeep her in line.. Maybe if you guys raised her right I wouldn't have to smack her around.." Hahaha.. That sort of thing.
Anyway.. Uhhmm.. I think I'm just going to remove the vid from my OP. I don't want anyone to think I'm an a**hole. I wouldn't have posted it if I wasn't really asking a legitimate question. My first reaction was that it was really funny. But I guess I can see how it could be perceived as not funny to some people. If their perception is that they think the dog is traumatized, then it wouldn't be cool. I'm not that much of a dog expert. Just because I don't perceive it that way doesn't mean I'm right. It could very well be I guess. And if that's the case, it wouldn't be appropriate to post it.
I apologize to anyone who felt bad to watch it.
