I mentioned my father being deathly ill. He's out of the hospital and in a nursing home. He's got a LONG road to recovery, he's making very slight progress. Also we've been jamming with a new guitarist. I've got guarded optimism for my father AND my band. I've also been offered to play with another band. I usually don't play with more than one band at a time, but with the economy being the way it is I'll take whatever money I can get....

Here's hoping that all 3 work out for ya, bob. You're a good guy, & you AND your father AND your two bands deserve it.

Right now I'd settle for one band, don't get me started on dealing with my father...been there done that.

Best of luck on all fronts, you already know about the natural methods of keeping in good health, try and get him up and moving though, that will help a lot.

My uncle got sick a few weeks ago, (joints inflamed and swollen, intense pain, very similar to bad arthritis) he was in pretty bad shape for a while, barely able to go to the john, but just started trying to get up and out of the house a little this weekend, he's improving daily now and we just went to bid on a small job, did a water heater installation Saturday. I had to do most of the work but that was ok with me, he was ready to go so off we went. But we haven't had any work in over a month, that's put us both in bad shape. Looks like it might pick up now that he can go again. Might even be able to go pick up the guitar I took to a shop to sell on consignment. You KNOW it's bad when I decide to sell a guitar...

Sometimes I hate getting old...

Get him up and moving if possible, it helps. A lot.

Good luck Bob, hope it all works out well.

Again I get to be the doom slinger. Nursing homes suck! The companies who own them never release enough money to keep enough staff.
There are some good people out there working those places but often their hands are tied by being very overwhelmed.
Go often, and remember you have the right to ask questions and get answers. If you dont get the answers do not hesitate to call your States
Regulatory board.

God Bless and best of luck.

Apparently he's in a good nursing home if there is such a thing. He's making slow progress. I'll see him next week. I have always been a motivating person for him. He was once a very good golfer, much better all around than me, but I could out-drive him and just about everybody else I ever played with. He's all of about 5 ft 7 inches and I'm 6 ft 1 inch and 220 lbs. At one time I was regularly hitting 300 yard drives. Anyway, he told me if it wasn't for my visit he would have died. When he saw me it really perked him up. He has an iron resolve to get back home, when I go next week I'll matter-of-fact tell him he's going home soon and he will.

That ironresolve and your posative attitude will do more for him than any doctor can. Get him home asap. He will heal faster in his own environment.
