I'm a diverse person and although I don't think this will go down too well with hard core blues people I would appreciate some comeback. Soz I meant feedback.

It's been ages since I started working on something due to these infernal birds who at every grasp, just yell.

I do in my own way understand them however, I just need some space.

Cheers.

Chippy.

Yeah, it ain't blues. Pleasant enough to hear, but doesn't really go anywhere, like some ambient stuff. Could be a really cool intro into something, though. Is this gonna be it, or are you gonna develop it into something?

CHIPPY I love experimental music, you would make Hendrix proud. Now how do I get to your house after I cross the G.W. bridge. Gotta get me some of those schrooms. See you in an hour.

Shrooms indeed :D
You know how it is right? I thought today's the day. Ran into the studio, had something in my head and needed to get it out. There are two reasons for it really. I' trying to match midi and analogue and make them marry, get a sound basically. I know there are thousands of knobs dials and settings but I'm trying to keep it simple.

I get a CD of an artist and play it back in my ancient sound system and for the first time listen to the recording, not the song. I'm trying to match the overlay and fill + silences without crapping out the VU.

Yes its an intro from another piece and will be included. Some learning curve huh?
Thanks for listening anywho, cheers for that.

Chippy.

Too short to really get a feel for it Chip. Enjoyable enough I think.
Sounds a lot like some of the music I would play for my ladies exercise and Chi Gung classes.

CHIPPY, I just posted a new keyboard song for you. Thanx for the schroooms, you got me inspired. The only thing that wasn't done on keyboard was the bass . Now I may have to go dig up some horn players and write out some charts. Come to think of it you just got me involved in a time cosuming mess.crudmonkies!

That keyboard run frightened the crap out of me! :D
Pretty good tune there Giongly.

Now then some questions.............
1. Why didn't you use Midi base?
2. How did you make your drums sound live other than using a heck load of reverb? (They sounded resonant).
3. What VST are you using for your Keyboard?
4. What drum VST or software are you using? I have DR008 and a set of DD50 drum pads. <<< Prefer these at the mo.

Yours sincerely - Dufus Chippy

Hi Chippy.
Of the 3 songs posted, I'd spend time developing "Got a Minute," which I think has the most potential.
.
In "Day in the West," - did you play the drums? . . . because the drums are 90% of the song.
I suspect it would have limited appeal to most audiences, because it sounds much like a repeating loop. Yes - maybe it IS a repeating loop - but I don't think you want it to sound that way . . . know what I mean? More variety will increase appeal.
Maybe you can try remixing, w/ the drums slowly receading into the background.
Then just listen to it, over and over . . .
- see what else developes.
. . . maybe experiment with some bold melodies . . .
.
"Knocking Valve" sounds like a loop - song. I probably wouldn't loop it more than twice before changing it . . . it's off to a good start.
.
Again . . .
Of the 3 songs posted, I'd spend time developing "Got a Minute," which I think has the most potential.
You might consider cutting the volume of the cymbals by 20% - that's a personal preference, though.
I'd add a 'non-busy' part somewhere, as a bridge.
And in the bridge, I'd add someting new and unusual - but not distracting from the song.
I'd capitalize heavily on what you already have.
Come up with a short intro.
.
All this is meant as 'semi-informed' suggestions.
We must admit, when giving suggestions, that they are sometimes influenced bu personal preference.
.
My best music came about when I finally decided to meet my audience's preferences - halfway with my own preferences.
.
Chippy, you're well on your way.
