BASSicallyDave wrote:I do believe that is SIR Paul McCartney

That is correct! Hasn't the Queen even knighted artists that aren't native to Britain? I think they are knighted but can't use Sir before their name. Oh yeah, John Entwistle is one of my favorites as well... I didn't even think about him the first time around...

just a side note: saw vic wooten at a sm club in milw (black orchid) and he asked the entire front row to move back 5ft and not to sit there while the band warmed up - kinda a jerk.
I know it's easy to let his tech style distract... but his understanding of modality rivals that of a joe pass. much more than technical... listen to his solo stuff - very much a feel. My 2cents.

all of the bassists for the band Ruins. there have been five.prog duo from Japan. but they aren't like Dream Theater or anything. in fact, DT would look pathetic (even more in my opinion, although, John Myung...) if they went on stage after Ruins.

the drummer and all of the bassists for Ruins sing in a fictional language called Kobaïan which was invented by Christian Vader, the drummer for the French prog band Magma. very weird. very cool.

check out this Ruins footage.

hmmm, ruins a. fictional language a? wonder if there is a band out there singing klingon... there should be! Perhaps I could start one... but I'll have to learn some klingon first... or find a lyric translator.
something like...
damnit jim, I'm a doctor,
damnit jim, set phazors on stunn,
damnit jim, I've got to boldly go!

that would not be logical
I'm givin' her all she's got captian
that would not be logical
seek out new frontiers...
