Chippy, I did the same thing when I first signed up at MySpace.
I didn't realize there were 2 types of accounts.
I just signed up, and then tried to post music, but - no player!
Crap.
I checkied into switching over to a musician's account; looked like a lot of trouble.
So, after 1 week, I deleted my account and opened a musician's account, instead.
Now I have over 6000 plays on my songs, and over 12,000 hits on the site.
I've got about a hundred photos posted, can post up to 10 songs, I can contact anyone I want for free . . .
:)
Hey - what's not to like?
:)

I got it finally. My original Chipfryer url was still not available after the mix up but I'm happy with things.

If any of you want to hook up there I'd obviously be more than grateful.

Now then Chippy.......... How does one talk about one's self on MySpace?

I've been trying to log back on to my myspace profile for two years.
The myspace people NEVER respond to my questions.
The Bandmix people always respond.
I feel so unwanted. 8)

Hmmm

Perhaps something is wrong? Still I'm new to it and don't know where everything is?

[Thanks also to folks who linked to me. I hope that this link goes both ways since I am not entirely sure?]

Anywho...........

I have my page then I click my 'MySpace' url then get something completely different. I've looked at my settings but it seems that I still have both a Music/Personal setup?

Just letting you folks know because I cannot work it out at the mo.

Many thanks.

Chippy.

Word of advice here. If you ever change your e-mail address, be sure and change it over at myspace before canceling the last e-mail address. Myspace sends a confirmation e-mail to the old address and without it, you can't change it on myspace. I found out the hard way. And Sans is right, they won't ever answer your e-mails. Tried for a long time but got computer generated messages that they sent me a reply TO THE OLD ADDRESS! Like that's doing me a lot of good. :x

OUCH!
Yeah this happened to me too on another thing I used to use. Mind I suppose its free and that is a consequence of that.
Thanks Rat.

I tried to open an account there...I think it worked & it's there, but I couldn't seem to do anything with it so I just gave up on it after awhile.

I think perhaps I didn't open a musician account, maybe, or something, but I just had too much trouble with it to keep trying.

I still get emails from them & from ppl wanting to be my "friend," but I just never took it all that seriously...

It's hell being a luddite, ain't it?

Phil if you need help let anyone who has the know-how know.
Willing to but just don't want to seem overbearing.

Keep well and good luck!

HAH! What, Chip, you don't think I can take "overbearing?" HELP! I'll accept emails, phone calls, snail mail, whatever you can do to help, man.

I'd like to have that lil thingie up & running. From all the posts in here what make references to their pages, it seems almost like it's a must-have!

there's no almost about it there philby stuff like myspace is a must have, though facebook is more the one for adults, but myspace has a musician section that is customizable as far as backgrounds and lay outs go, don't ask me how the hell that stuff works though hahaha that reminds me I gotta practice more, so I can record more, so I can have enough good music to make a myspace, and maybe work on 6 string, even its just simple bar chords and single string work to sound like a solo
