I'm not sure adding acetone is a good idea. I heard it can decrease the life expectancy of your engine. All the other tips on here have been well publicized already. It's just common sense that reducing the weight in your vehicle will increase gas mileage as well as keeping tires properly inflated. All in all this is a good public service you're providing for us Bandmixers by posting these Hayden. Although it's not necessarily directly related to music, a lot of us travel a good deal to rehearsals and gigs, saving some money on fuel won't hurt us musicians a bit. Every drop of gas we can save is one less drop we have to buy from people who hate our guts. That's fine with me...

yeh i'm gonna put keytone in my tank next. then look at the fuel lines and pump .. just kiddin dude.. eveybody knows (?) that reducing the weight in your vehicle will improve milage, and some people try to 'super-mile' by exceeding the tire pressure which only wears the tires down in the middle.. but putting that sh*t in your tires when u have a flat instead of using your spare.. well balance will be off for ever and mize well toss that tire in the trash..

I was told by one guy, that if I had fuel line troubles, like a slightly clogged fuel line, to run my tank practically empty. Then add one gallon of keytone, fill a gas can with high test, & run the keytone out of the car until it's completely dry (thus the need for the can of gas). Then fill up the tank, & hope for the best. The keytone will supposedly clean out the problems, but if it's used too much it will ruin an engine.

I've never done it, & doubt I ever will. It's just something I heard that ppl do instead of getting expensive work done.

I must add that, when it comes to engines, I am a complete idiot, & depend heavilly on friends & pros. So never take any advice from me on car work.

I worked in a cultured marble factory a long long time ago and the owner used to put small amounts of acetone in his tank on a regular basis to clean it out. I mean like once a week. never seemed to bother his benz. it's also used as part of the mix in home made racing fuel.
I won't say that it definitely won't hurt your car, but I've never seen any evidence that it will.
