I came around a corner after a local show and I heard this guy talking to his friend about the show we just saw.

He goes, "The crap they played was so old that their percussion section originally must have consisted of one caveman playing a boulder with a thighbone."

I bust out laughing and almost fell down, but what a horrific shot that was.
I silently thanked god they weren't fresh from seeing OUR show.

Glad we didn't play that night.. sheesh.. Everyone is a fing critic.

Have you heard any ugly shots? Pass them on, I could use a good laugh.

And I thought the band was ok.. They played THE WHO and it was good..

Ok, I'll go back to my thighbone now.. lol

Friend of mine said he yelled up at the stage between songs:

"Hey, try playing something you practiced!"

I've been heard telling ppl at open mics to "Play something you know!" But it's usually all in good fun.

One time I was on stage & the sound man was drunk. There was this horrid mic feedback. I turned from the mic & said "F*ckin' moron" just as this harmonica player put his hand on the squealing mic, which of course just made it worse. I told him "Don't EVER do that again."

Well, of course he thought I was calling him an effing moron & yelling at him to get off stage, so he did. He never got on with me again, or even spoke to me. I almost felt bad about it, but he was, after all, just a harmonica player wannabe...LOL

The best part was that he was one of those adoring fan types who are oh so sensitive & gets on yer nerves real bad, so it really worked out for the best for me.

I was doing my off-key comedic singing of "Country Roads" one night, & this lady stood up & yelled "You SUCK!" at me. I started laughing in the middle of the act, but finished the song as I usually do, in key after the 1st chorus. She came up to me later & heartily apologised, but I told her it was okay, cuz I WAS sucking pretty bad, she just didn't know it was on purpose.

I was sorta helping to run this open mic for over 19 yrs, & I missed one night while I was out of town. Ppl kept asking Dddonnie where I was, & he just kept saying "F*CK Phil." After awhile he had the whole bar screaming it between almost every song.

Of course I heard all about it when I came back into town, so the next week, Dddonnie put me up 1st. Everyone was whispering & laughing like they had something on me as I got on the stage. I hit a chord or two like I was gonna start a song & stopped & yelled "F*ck ALL of ya!" & walked off like I was mad. Then I peeked out at them & everyone started laughing. Yeah...good clean fun.

Damn I'm chatty this morning.

I must be getting old, We have a site down here called houstonbands.net it is where you can look for musicians (locally for free) and a lot of people use it includeing yours truly but when I go to the classifieds section I see peoples adds and they list the music that they cover or their originals sound like and some or most of them I have never heard of. They also list the age range of people they will consider and they are 10 to 20 years younger than me and at the end of their add they say "no dinosaurs" well damn it I guess I am officially a dinosaur.
