Full contact golf.
Two greens facing each other. One hole in between. First man to sink a ball or knock the other golfer out wins.

It's sad when a country is so tied down that they have to look to sports figures for a hero!

To me a hero is anyone who sacrifices with no expectation of a payoff, in order to help others.
Most true hero's are never heard of by the general public!

Personally, I think the media makes way too much of sports personalities. Back in the day it wasn't important if Babe Ruth got drunk & said or did something stupid (which he did quite often). Now we all got to know everything about them, right on down to whivch hand they use to wipe with.

Ppl aren't super-great. Leave 'em alone. A guy can be someone to look up to for his actions & abilities in his field of work, & still be a dumbass or a twit in his personal life. When you delve too deeply in ANYONE's life, you're gonna find a lot of pettiness, stupidity, mistakes, meanness, etc., at various points of his life.

We all need to learn that it's perfectly okay to be HUMAN. Yeah, when ppl get too far out of line, they need to be reeled in, but for crying out loud, someone who carries or throws a ball for a living doesn't need to have the intelligence of your average rocket scientist. Those who take lots of knocks to the head can't be expected to sound especially smart, can they?

Alex Rodriguez making tens of MILLIONS of dollars on steroids, ditto Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire, etc. etc. This show the stinking values this country has. The four major sports leagues are in the billions of dollars in payroll. Do you think Manny Ramirez could survive very nicely on say a paltry million dollars a year? Do you think it would be a GOOD idea to take the other 49 million dollars he'll receive and rebuild an entire neighborhood community in Los Angeles? How about REQUIRE cheating sports figures to GIVE BACK 90% of their salaries to REBUILD communities? How about take the 49 million dollars from Ramirez and lower ticket prices accordingly so many more underpriveleged people could afford to go to ball games? How about major league sports donating billions of dolars to our U.S. auto makers to re-tool their factories WITHOUT taxing US? Major league athletes are certainly no role models for me. I think EVERY major league fan should BOYCOTT the entire season until ticket prices come down substantially, or millions of dollars are donated by the athletes to rebuild communities around each major league stadium.

screw the poor, a cuban who makes it here is turned aside unless he can play ball for some team in less then 3 weeks....at least golfers give as much as some whole sports do in 2 years every year, but then again their game eats a bunch of land and is fairly pricey to pick up, so its the least the even richer "jocks" can do, in my school at least the years I was going the jocks in my class weren't that different from every one else, cept they loved gym class more then they should haha, but modern athletes prove that you don't have to think, that's the coaches job (and then all they can think about is their game) ridiculous, I don't like to think of hero's but rather heroic things done by people, like telling your g/f wife, whatever where to go when you know you're dead wrong hahaha
