Yeah , I have audition and yes, can save the WAV to all the formatts you mentioned including WMA.. The problem is that "saving" to Mp3 is a much more "lossy" formatt IMO...Even the best you and I have in Audition ,which is a CBR at 320 kbps is not as GOOD as a WMA..YOU be the judge... Go to my MYSPACE page and listen to both copies...The WMA is cleaner fatter sounding and "Looks" most like the WAV shape of the original WAV mix. That Mp3 pro in audition SUCKS.. I glad I discovered 320. BUT, its a HUGE ass file.. .

Oh yeh wav iz alot better than mp3.. I thought we were talking about the formats accepted by bmix, utube, mspace etc...

We are We are....Stay with me now.. ...WMA is NOT a WAV nor Mp3 formatt..Its a language all its own...WMA will NOT play in the bandmix player...Robin and Alan were sayin that just changing the "name" of the file to mp3 will allow it to play in the bandmix player..Thats what Im tryin to do is change its "name"... 10-4?...

Well, none of this makes any "common" sense. I cant understand how thier doing this because just changing the 'name" does NOT change the encoded info pertaining to the file.. It makes me sick becuase I just finshed a tune with 6 vocal parts and you can really hear the diff between mp3 and WMA. Mp3 really kills feq's 8-15KHZ. Gonna try some stereo imaging (pan /expand , mastering width in audition language) to see if the vocal can remain true to the freq. spectrum when being BEAT down to MP3..

10-4 . Ok I'd had a couple last nite when posting (I gotta quit doing that.) I'll rephrase for clarity.
Changing the file name from .mp3 to .wmv might not work well, or at all, or might cause problems on the other end. I dont know for sure, but trying to "trick" thier server in to accepting a file that isn't what it says it is could lead to problems.
A while back I tried re-naming some file extentions (non-audio related) and it ended up causing pc problems. Caution is advised when doing this type of thing unless you really know what you're doing. It isnt as simple as just re-naming the file to what you want it to be.

I actually dont think that mp3 pro is all that bad..
It's lossy, but if that's all they allow... whatcha gonna do?
You're putting up tunes on an internet board. Now if you're recording a CD, that's a different story, of course.

Theres a difference between auditions regular Mp3 settings AND Mp3 pro.
I challenge ya to try the regular setting on the SLOWEST encoding speed on HIGH quality. It blows away the PRO settings..Ya might wanna try BEST also.. Becuase IT says , the quality MAY vary between HIGH and BEST settings... Its WEIRD becuase "sometimes" I get a better result saving at the Highest "Variable bit rate" instead of the highest Constant bit rate at 320kbps..Ive learned to really look at the WAV..You can see a 32 bit WAV CHOPPED all to hell when it goes down to Mp3. Im tryin to learn some dithering techniques to stop this crap... ...With my vocals, I need ALL the motherlovin help I can get..

OH PS, your SOO right about those file exts'.. This thing doesnt know whether to Crap or go Blind when ya mess with the name of something.Its like youve poisoned it..

Hmm. I'll have to try try experimenting around with those settings.. good info. Thx
