Well.... I opened up for: Zebra.... Southside Johnny.... Ruff Kut ... Good Rats and G&R waaay back when they first started... So I guess that would be considered not only backstage but also sharing the stage! Was also asked to be the lead guitarist of Virgin Steele back in '83 but I turned them down as I thought my band was going to be super successful... I could kick myself in the ass for screwin' that one up!

Was invited back stage with my older sister at a Journey concert back in the 70's. Partied with a couple of the band members. I wasn't even legal age...sis disappeared with someone....I now feel sorry for the guy that was stuck with me. GOD I was young and had NO clue.

Doobie Bros in the late 70s. We also jammed with the bassist and drummer at a party. M.McDonald said that he wouldn't sing tho..
Congrats on your friendship with DefLepp. One of my all time favorite bands!

I was supposed to be their axeman but after I declined, they asked Jack Starr and he ended up touring with them all over Asia and Europe while I played in these godforsaken dives!

I opened for The Marshall Tucker Band awhile back. They had an amazing drummer that looked like a spider behind the kit. He had everything kinda spread out, almost level like, & his arms & legs were just flailing away really fast, & it looked like a somewhat awkward style, although he was quite good. One of the guitarists from the Outlaws was with them then. Singer had a huge head & seemed like a jerk, but the rest of them seemed okay. Didn't have a lot of time for interaction, but I did get to smoke one with them in their bus before they split town.

hey that's awesome DTC!
yeah I used to own an instrument store next to Bogat's in Cinci so I got to meet some of the bands there. had my girlfriend take a pic o me & the bassist from L7 in my store. my girl said ready? she said yup, and proceeded to wrap her leg around me with her foot... well yeah, right there, and lick the side o my face... let's just say my girly wasn't to thrilled with her lol. It is pretty cool getting to hang backstage because every band is so different and that in itself makes it very interesting. I have several rock star stories fot ya, but you'll have to wait for the book!

Ecchhh I just gave away 2 tickets to Marshall Tucker.

Not my brand of music, but they are far from unrecognizable..

Never cared for 'em. Or the Allman Bros. Liked The Outlaws, Skynyrd, ZZTop and even Jim Dandy and Black Oak Arkansas better..
