I would have some sort of backup, even another distortion pedal in the gig bag. Years ago I ran a tube screamer straight in the board for a gig where my amp messed up.
Bassist can get away with plugging straight in a sound board, but most rock guitarist need something in between to get the distortion and breakup we need. Ive had pedals go out or messed up power supplies. If I was you I would find some sort of backup to have in the gig bag. Cause if you play long enough sooner or later OLD TRUSTY will mess up and you will have to improvise. Im not throwing you a line of bullshit ask any of the guys on here who gig a lot. I dont really gig that much anymore and still have issues so it can happen and ruin your night if you arent prepared. Crazy Train sounds like crap without some distortion, trust me on this!
