Just sounds like pointless noise to me. Wether or not I could or would care to replicate it, is irrelevent. Anymore than I would like to play Johnny Cash or Mili Vanili

As for those two guys... I've seen that type of stuff before.
For some reason theres a death metal offshoot where young guys like to play harmonized guitar excercises and stuff. Real fast.
Oh, and it seems they have to include some sort of 5 to 12 string bass to whiddle around on.

I have the attitiude that there isnt much I cant play, if I have the desire to play it, and put in some time and effort.
Theres lots of stuff that I have no desire to put in any effort for though.

Anyways, yah, they are technically competent. But not enjoyable to listen to for me.

Dave is one of my favorites. I met this dude when I went back home. Sooooooo down to earth that it's unbelievable. He's got many more videos. Check em out.

someone in the comments on the video said something to the effect that being able to play it and wanting to play it are two different things. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

While I can appreciate the song's (desired) complexity, there's a fine line between great art and pretentious crap. I'd have to say this song, for whatever reason, was written with the sole purpose of being complex. It's almost like they listened to fusion jazz for 1/2 an hour and decided that they can write it, but be even more complex and maintain the random quality.

In the end, it completely and hopelessly fails, because it IS pretentious. The songwriting is no different that some wannabe who is being weird for nothing but the sake of being weird. Just my opinion though, but that was crap lol.
