I like it! Bass line was a bit loud...I'd mix it with the bass a bit lower...not ripping, just sayin ;-)

Bass is late in a lot of places, like you weren't sure of yourself as you played it. The lead guitar kinda wanders, don't it? If you tighten it up a bit it could be a really good piece. Frankly, it sounds like a 1st time jam with a bass player with no idea what's gonna happen next, & is constantly looking to the rhythm guitar for cues. Odd start with the drums, but I can understand it. Bass is too hot in the mix, & rhythm guitar too low.

It's way too long, though. W/out vocals, or something else in it, it should end around 2:00, imo.

I like the general idea and flow of the song.
I must agree with the citique of the previous posters and (this is strange coming from me) a little cleaner sound on the guitar, I feel may fit the mood of the song.

Bass is late - I think (though I am not sure what equipment you are using) it is a latency problem. Thus you hit the key and it plays on the record just a few milliseconds later. Thumb through your hardware / software manuals and you will find latency adjustment.

You say guitar sound different on the record, may I ask what soft you are using for recording?

Cheap blank, acid by sony. I had someone tell me I should switch to riffworks. That there where more things avalible for drums, and it was better software. I wish I would have never baught the sony stuff. you hafto pay for phone suport the day of purchase if you have a problem. Im not the greatest at computor stuff. I try, THANKS

Greetings EDDY
I used ACID myself until I switched to Cubase. (will never go back)

In ACID Click on Options / Preferences /
Then navigate to the "Audio" tab. There you will see a check box with a long name: "Automatically detect and offset for hardware recording latency"

The word "automatic" means that the software will ask the sound card "how long does it take to process the sound before I can plop it in to a file" and the card will lie back "about 36 milliseconds". Because it is a lie the software will plop the sound on the transport just a little to late.

This is what happens to the bass line (or any other line for that matter).

To correct this uncheck the box, and tweak the "User recording latency offset" slider to get the correct timing.

A poor-man way to do it is to import a drum beat at about 120 BPM, then connect your guitar and record tapping on the pickup at the same time when snare hits. Then listen back to the recording

If time is late move the slider to the left else to the right and repeat the step above until you get it right on. Once you adjust the latency you will not have this problem.

This goes for any recording software, The latency problem arises when the sound card does not report the latency correctly.

One you have it all adjusted you would have to re-record the track. Because this will not fix tracks that are already written.

Good luck

P.S.
For drumbabams try FL Studio (Fruity Loops), I think they have a trial version, you just can not save anything in trial version. That soft has bunch of stuff for techno, but it has a "real drum kit" (as real as they could make it), after equalizing the samples you can get half descent beats from it.

However nothing beats the real acoustic drum except the drummer perhaps.

Hmm, as for the song itself, Saundra, it is cool. I played my flute with it...it is in d minor BTW. It really cooks with gas. You should hear it with some flute licks. :)

You're playing all these really cool riffs and you've got a lame (IMO) bass & drum track to accompany you. I agree bass is too loud and also too high end. You need to find someone who plays bass through a 15 inch speaker and plays mainly LOWER OCTAVE notes to BALANCE what you're doing. Black57 played flute along with your tune, I still find it hard to believe you haven't found anybody in your area who wants to play along with you IN PERSON. You've got too many good original ideas to be dick'in around (pardon the French) with lame electronic tracks. Have your tried other websites to locate musicians? Backpage.com? Craig's List? Musicians Forest? Forming Bands? Have you gone to jam sessions if they're available in your area? You're WAY TOO GOOD A GUITARIST TO NOT BE IN A REAL BAND.

Yeh, What fisherman bob said.

I plaid rhythm along with the "Funk It" and counter parts to the shred in E.

I can help you with recording tips if you like. I used the soft you are using now before. But really man, you need some band members. I would offer you to play guitar for my project any day.
