After pondering with the concept of extraterrestrial life for more then half a century, here are my conclusions.

Probability of the existence of extraterrestrial life in the universe ...99+% FOR :D

Probability of terrestrial contact with extraterrestrials now, in the past or ever ...99+% AGAINST

Sorry , I love science fiction as much as anybody, but there are too many astounding things happening in the REAL world of science to be wasting time looking for a myth.

(now get your minds back to doin' some serious thinkin' , like workin' up your next song list , or contomplateing the existence of the Higgs boson!)

Yer ol' pragmatic skeptical pal

This.
Except that it's 5000 years ago. Ancient civilizations have communicated with other beings that lived amongst themselves for a while and they wrote down/drew many depictions of them and the knowledge they had offered to those civilizations. It's a very interesting and rather broad topic.

Ok here is what I think!
It,s the mothership.

No really the mathmatical probability is pretty damned high.
I put NO limitations on he who created us.
When I see the little f**kers standing in front of me. Then I might believe they exist. Hope they taste like chicken.

When the little or big fuc*ers are standing in front of you YOU'RE going to taste like chicken! And there's nothing you're going to be able to do about it! Later...

If they had that intent Bob and or the capability I'd be an alien turd already. (ok guys no jokes about how I am a turd.) The laws of reality apply to all universally. Sorry, I feel they either dont have the intent or / capability. If they even exist outside of the Scifi channel.
As was pointed out by previous post. We as a race a quite adept at the art of war.
If they are soooo advanced why do they allow us to "see" them?
Why do they (supposedly) crash?
Many consider the human race backward and barbaric.
I can tell you this much. There is no limit to the human will.

Are you suggesting that coconuts migrate?

Here... allow me to mix two items on 'the list' together:
What about the nephalim of the old testament?

Like I said before, too many perfectly sane people (many of whom are God fearing Christians) have seen UFO's. I have seen one myself, although some of you may question my sanity. A civilization so advanced to be able to travel at will through the universe would almost certainly have absolutely no desire to contact the primordial slime that is us. And if by chance they did happen to contact us I would imagine that our measly pea-shooters would have no effect on them or they would make them completely inoperable. I'm not suggesting anything to try and shake anybody's religious beliefs. The odds do not favor us being the only intelligent creatures in the vast universe. And why would God create us and only us in the vast universe? Man has a tendency to be so universally egocentric anyway. Are we really that important? Are we the center of the universe? And does it say in the Bible that God created life ONLY on Earth? I DO believe in God. I also believe in extraterrestrial intelligent life. I also believe in extraterrrestrial civilizations that are billions of years older than us. Later...
