There are country songs all over this forum like the new hit on the Country Top 20, "Cheaper to be broke." lol
So I did some work for a rich Dr., today, & he wrote me a check.
I took it to their bank, whereupon the teller asked me "Mr Montgomery, do you have an account with us?"
I told her no. She then proceeded to tell me that this bank, whose initials correspond with Betrayal, Bilk, & Thievery, has a policy where, if they cash a check for someone without an account, they automatically charge you a $5 fee.
I told her "Hell, no, not to ME you don't! Gimme the thing back."
I prolly spent $5 to drive across town to cash it at my Credit Union, but ya know what? I'd travel 3 times as far to keep their grubby lil paws offa my money.
I thought a check was a guarantee of payment. I had no idea it could be legal for a bank to charge you for fulfilling that obligation! I thought the fees they charged their customers would more than cover that.
When Dddonnie had a business account with them from his store, they actually had the nerve to charge him for making DEPOSITS in his account!
BB&T is not a bank I'd recommend doing any sort of transactions with, & I'll tell everyone I work for in the future that I will NOT accept checks from that institution. Let the market decide, & let 'em fail like the rest, & if the effin' gov't tries to bail 'em out, I'm gonna start a frikken violent revolution all by my damned self!
I guess they're one of the banks that got left out of the bailout, eh? So they're gonna try to get extra cash from all of us any old way they can. RIPOFF ARTISTS, they be!
That crap cost me an extra hour & a half of my time, & I ain;t happy about it at all, considering the holiday traffic. In fact, I'm gonna do everything I can to personally cost them customers, the cheating rat bastids!
Spread the word. BB&T sucks. BB&T is the worst bank ever. BB&T should rot in hell!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaargh!
