So I did some work for a rich Dr., today, & he wrote me a check.

I took it to their bank, whereupon the teller asked me "Mr Montgomery, do you have an account with us?"

I told her no. She then proceeded to tell me that this bank, whose initials correspond with Betrayal, Bilk, & Thievery, has a policy where, if they cash a check for someone without an account, they automatically charge you a $5 fee.

I told her "Hell, no, not to ME you don't! Gimme the thing back."

I prolly spent $5 to drive across town to cash it at my Credit Union, but ya know what? I'd travel 3 times as far to keep their grubby lil paws offa my money.

I thought a check was a guarantee of payment. I had no idea it could be legal for a bank to charge you for fulfilling that obligation! I thought the fees they charged their customers would more than cover that.

When Dddonnie had a business account with them from his store, they actually had the nerve to charge him for making DEPOSITS in his account!

BB&T is not a bank I'd recommend doing any sort of transactions with, & I'll tell everyone I work for in the future that I will NOT accept checks from that institution. Let the market decide, & let 'em fail like the rest, & if the effin' gov't tries to bail 'em out, I'm gonna start a frikken violent revolution all by my damned self!

I guess they're one of the banks that got left out of the bailout, eh? So they're gonna try to get extra cash from all of us any old way they can. RIPOFF ARTISTS, they be!

That crap cost me an extra hour & a half of my time, & I ain;t happy about it at all, considering the holiday traffic. In fact, I'm gonna do everything I can to personally cost them customers, the cheating rat bastids!

Spread the word. BB&T sucks. BB&T is the worst bank ever. BB&T should rot in hell!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaargh!

I feel your pain Philby. I had a simular situation. I told the teller that the person who wrote the check owes me money and THEY HAVE AN ACCOUNT! She appologised and cashed the check. When I told the person who wrote me the check, she called the bank and bitched them out for about five minuets, with me listening. Ah yes I enjoyed that!
We should all mpve toward a cash or barter system as much as possable, let the money changers burn in HELL!

Phil, light up one and relax. Bankers are thieves. They've been so since banks were set up for the first time.

Hey Guy's I was self employed for 10 years, before I got this job at a local university. My oldest son worked for me and my bank tried to do that to him, when he went to cash his paycheck, you should have heard the crawfishin when I started bitchen, they wanted to charge my employee's 5 bucks to cash their checks at my bank.
The latest scam they have goin (all the thiefs that call themself's Bankers)
is they are not only going to charge you overdraft fee's on actual overdraft's they are going to charge you overdraft fee's on assumed overdraft's. Yes that means if you have an automatic withdrawal on your account for say your carpayment and it is supposed to be paid on the same day your automatic deposit happens but your auto dep. hits before your carpayment is actually withdrawn, they charge you an overdraft for that. WATCH OUT FOR THESE LEGAL THIEFS!!!
Slippery sloap people!!!!
