Alabama Song: Well here's a little ditty with a couple of problems...first is that the only copy I have is an old cassette stereo mixdown that has a few dropouts along the way...The bottom of a well reverb on the vocals...I blame alcohol at some point during the mixing process. But I still get a kick out of the weirdo chord changes, and the ridiculous instrumentation.

Dajax, I like your songs and especially the song entitled Old Original It has an Allen Parsons feel to it! you play guitar with a lot of tasty feel, kinda reminds me of one of my faves. Carlos Santana. I am listening to the Messiah Will Come Again now, is that one of yours also?

I also enjoy my visits to Dajax's place. The way heplays makes me think he's from Texas.

The Messiah Will Come Again is Roy Buchanan's. Shame on you for not knowing that. There's a couple of different versions of that on two of Roy's albums. It's one of the very best songs Roy ever did. He is at the very top of my favorite guitarists list along with Freddy King.

Dajax, I went and listened to Messiah. Nice version of it. My opinion of you is infinitely elevated just by the fact you ecided to tackle this Buchanan masterpiece. Good job.

Yep, Messiah, and Sweet Dreams Are my fave Roy tracks. I've always been a Telecaster/Esquire guy as far Fenders go. Around 1970 I was influenced by George Harrison, and his rosewood Tele, the blond Tele that Luther Perkins played on the Johnny Cash variety show, and there was a PBS special on Roy Buchanan called The Greatest Unknown Guitarist In The World. I just couldn't believe what I was hearing when he started playing!

Every electric lead guitarist should run to their PC and search for Roy Buchanan CD's and buy as many as they can afford. He might be the greatest guitarist, known or unknown. He was very actively pursued by The Rolling Stones and other big time bands. I guess he had a very bad drinking problem, ended up committing suicide while in jail. Have you ever heard his version of Hey Joe? The first time I heard it I was in shock somebody could play guitar that way. The part in the middle when he's soloing and the other instruments drop out is INCREDIBLE. Absolutely amazing angry, ridiculously fast guitar work. The guy was simply the very best guitarist I have ever heard. How about in his album Loading Zone when he does that duet with Stanley Clark? Or his version of Green Onions? Guitar playing never got better than that. I agree that the Telecaster can be an awesome guitar in the right hands. I'm surprised more guitarists don't play one. I've always liked the tone it puts out. Later...
