People like ACE..

They sucker you in and then when it's time to pay, they either do a fast fade or start to tell you why they can't pay you what they agreed to..

My biggest pain is having bandmembers at different levels of commitment. I've got just a trio, but the %#$&** guitar player cannot/will not commit more than a week or two ahead of time  --and he's the least of the evils I've dealt with!

Won't the music gods PLEASE deliver me a guitarist who:

-is a non-wanker (no 15 minute+ solos)
-has a reliable car
-has a reliable phone or way to contact
-has a significant other who is supportive but doesn't want to join or manage the band
-is a professional musician, not a weekend dilettante who will show up late, get wasted on the gig, get in fights with the audience and not learn the material
-has decent stage clothing
-is looking for a working band, not an opportunity to play "rock star"
-has a day job or can commit to weekend gigs--sometimes months ahead of time
-plays with some soul

**Why is it SO hard to find one? Our rhythm section fits all of the above.
We COULD work steadily, but we're in the Florida Keys and during slow season gigs slow down. That's why we have day jobs.

Can someone tell me? Why is it damned near impossible to find
such a person? Our trio plays surf and rockabilly and everyone loves us because we don't play the same old crap the other bands do down here.

WHY, WHY??? :x :x

Lol.. amazing.

I would describe myself as all of the above and my last band threw me out, called me a "diva" and the usual "asshole guitarist"... of course, they just wanted to play in the same bar once every two weeks for free....
