Oh I get it! You were speaking in JAZZ!
Music has definition. There are many who have taken it beyond the norm - Philip Glass, Gentle Giant, Miles Davis, etc, and they have each had their cult followings.
I, too, get tired of being able to predict the next note, the next phrase, when I hear something supposedly new.
World beat stuff embraces the 1/4 tones & droney beats that many of us in the west find so irritating, as a rule.
Time changes, even for a single measure, have been explored since before "A Taste Of Honey" was recorded & made popular. There was much uproar from the "purists" at the time for this blatant disregard for the "rules of music."
New "instruments" from the theramin to drywall buckets to the PVC pipes played with flip flops (the "floppafone!") have been explored. Voice as a percussion instrument is popular at the moment.
"New age tapes" & "nature sounds" like whale song have been distributed as "music."
Where next would YOU take it? Will you call this new form "music" or "entertaining sounds?"
I really don't want you to damage the way I think. I'd rather my thought processes be expanded & improved upon, myself, but if you think your music will damage my thinking, I'll take that challenge & listen, as long as it doesn't irritate me too much.
Where is it? I only hope that it makes more sense to me than your original post!
