Blimey

Huh? But Greenie, I AM precious, & cuddly, & cute, & huggable, & adorable, & oh so sensitive. I can't help being all that I am. *sniff* I just feel so alone! Would you be my friend? I don't wanna be a butt with a goatee anymore. (I think that Cblake guy is *shudder* rubbing off on me.)

OMG I need a shower! I feel so....FILTHY!

I knew you were joking, m'lady, & I like your sense of humor. Believe me, it takes more than a lil ribbing to give me the vapors. It takes a corset & a long hike.

And some mustard. ^

Guitar is the soul. (At least for a RnR band)

Captain's formula looks interesting, but I would give the most weight to the drummer. A great band with a lousy drummer is a mediocre band. A mediocre band with a great drummer is a good band. I put the most value on the drums to start with. I'm really particular on the drumming. I"ve been playing with the same one for years and years so it"s hard for me to play with another drummer at this time. On a scale of one to ten (ten being the top rating) I rate the drummer a ten, everyone else has a rating of eight. Later...

That's surprising to hear from you, Bob. I have played with shitty drummers before and I kind of hint around the "less is more" idea.

As in, they keep it simple and still a shitty drummer won't bring you down too hard.

I played with a few guitarists that had a few too many drinks, no way to cover that up. Same with vocalists and bassists, too difficult to cover for one having a bad night.

Oddly enough, I never met a keys player that was too far off. Either they just sucked too badly to begin with or they were THE sh*t. Plenty of kooky guitarists, tho..

On a serious note I will have to agree with Bob. Get a good drummer and the whole energy of the band shoots up, a bad one will just make the whole experience painfull..

...even worse is a crappy bassist IMO.... If the bassist and I aren't on the same page...we're screwed... If the drummer or singer messes up a little, there's definitely a chance for redemption...but if the bassist hits that wrong note.... there's no turning back  beeen there.....done that... super embarrassing
