I'm just sick and tired of all these "promoters' and "managers" always expecting artists to do all their dirty work and pound the pavement in order to make their show a success. If this gentleman was as successful as he claims to be, he wouldn't waste his time trying to get "no-names" to perform at his show with the expectations of their ticket sales bringing in the bucks exclusively for his benefit. I have written in the past about my disdain toward club owners only paying us for who we bring in even though the club is packed and we're the only band playing! That's ludicrous! If the crowd is applauding and drinking, and tipping and begging for an encore.... who the fuk are they to only pay us for the few who mention the name of our band? Back when I toured in the 80's over the east coast, we knew exactly how much we were getting paid before we even set foot in the door.... We've done gigs very far from our fan base but we still got paid and the person who booked us was responsible for the advertising in order to draw the people! We had enough to worry about as far as hiring a sound crew, light crew, roadies and transportation without having to worry if we were going to draw our personal fans miles and miles away from our stomping grounds! It started out that way with my present band at the beginnning of this year and we put a stop to that.... we made friends with very popular bands out here and showcased ourselves by doing short sets with them and the crowd went crazy and we all started obtaining new fans real quick... now we are able to negotiate a salary with the club owners and even though it's not thousands, it's a helluva lot better thn what Ace was trying to make these artists do. IT'S DEAMEANING AND DISGUSTING TO MAKE BANDS GO OUT ON FOOT AND PERSONALLY SELL TICKETS FOR HIS SHOW AND THAT'S WHAT PISSES THE CRAP OUTTA ME! :x

Hey Crip, Just wanted to say "thanks". I for one, appreciate your dedication to bands getting some more respect. I'm sick of hearing of "pay to play" gigs and about club owners constantly cheaping out on bands.

These assclown "promoters" who want the bands to do their own promotions are bullshit in the highest order. I can't wait to join my next band and get back into the good fight

You know what god says about promoters and managers, they are already halfway to hell.

Crip if you don't defend yourself, no one will.

Cool Crip. I didnt know you were a fellow of the fight. Should have known. I can hear the warrior. I was always better at the stand-up but love to go for a choke or elbow if its one on one.
I have a lot of respect for good Ju Jitsu players. The guys who are well rounded. It's hard to submit two guys with knives. Good Ju Jitsu or Chin Na, as the art is refered to in Chinese (joint manipulation) can be a GREAT tool.
