I knew when I got there at 2:00 and nearly everybody there had a pass hanging from their neck it was gonna be bad; they did NO promotion for the show and it maxed at about 80 people. I got to open for a cover band and a celebrity impersonator. no offense to my cover band friends on here ( I love a good cover band) but that's like asking Picasso to open for an illustrator! then they cut us short so the impersonator could run on forever, and brothers he was boring as hell till the last 3 tunes. I spent $600 to go do that mess. the only repping done there was Mike Wills representing a perfect asshole and a total moron! I'm not one to spread second hand information but this guy more than deserves it! I was told he had done the same thing a few months ago and has a lot of bands real pissed off at him. also that he'd done it in Florida so many times that he was basically ran out of the state. the manager for Confederate Railroad was a total asshole. he did however apologize to my guitarist so I give him props for that; I'm sure the bizz has got him down some too. the monitor sound man didnt even give us a monitor mix and wouldn't place a mic for my drummer (who does harmony). I wish I had known that before we started. on the good side, the crowd that was there were was a great one. so many told us that we did great and many said we were the best act there. I also got to bust my new bands cherry and they all did a fantastic job!!! the sound man for monitors wanked, but the house sound was fantastic (and I thanked him for that) one of my fans made him give their money back because she came to see us, and another band and we got cut short and the other band got cut out! ROCK ON HELLCAT 69!!! I was apologizes too as much as I was complimented, and that was a lot! other that the monitor sound man, RR's manager, and the ASSWIPE that produced the show (MIKE WILLS) everyone there was great. plus my neighbor had never seen a concert before (he's 20) so I took him as a roadie and he had a fukn blast!
I'll post some video n pics after the editing is finished
P.S. was good to meet you KIDD

sucks that they didn't promote it or set it up properly. Glad that things worked out okay considering that. I would have thought from your prior postings that this was going to be a 500+ event. Guess the promoter really screwed the pooch, and the bands on this one.

That reminds me of years ago we played the Spirit Festival in Kansas City. Back then it was the biggest outdoor live musical festival in KC. We were the opening act in the blues tent. When we went on stage the PA wasn't working at all. They had sub-morons trying to figure it out. There was a neon sign (Budweiser I think) that was causing the guitar player's amp to buzz like crazy. I also couldn't hear ANYTHING coming out of the monitors. The idiots couldn't figure out the problem until just before the last two songs. By then our set was ruined. It's a shame when rank amateurs try and put on a big show. Overall it was probably the worst gig we ever had.
