Robin, that's one heck of rendition of KT Tunstall tune, at first I thought it was the original song, it took me half of the song to realize that it was not. Good job girl, if you ever perform in New Jersey I'd love to catch your act and not for the obvious testosterone motivated reason, but only to hear you sing you've got a good voice girl.

BTW is that you playing guitar?

Or are they, like me till now, just sitting back reading and laughing??????? How the male species digresses back to the testosterone levels that they are cursed/blessed with when faced with serious topics. :P Ok....I am ready for the fallout.....

I'm excited to see someone from my neck of the woods on the forum!

I grew up in Media :)

Loved it down there. Got too expensive, out here in Berks, everything is 1/2 off !

The only instrument I play is my vocal chords. That KT Tunstall track was recorded at Hershey Park (an amusement park) in one of those "Recording Studios". My voice was not enhanced at all. Just a couple of teenage girls working that "booth" and I liked the first take that I did. I had never sung in a band before. But I have sung all my life (that I can remember). I was singing Karaoke when someone asked if I want to be in a band. HELL YEAH! Always wanted to but never knew how. We practiced for about 8 months and it recently fell apart. The drummer told me about this website.....so here I am. Now that I have the "bug" I have to try again. Thanks for the kudos guys!

Hey Robin, very nice voice. I have a song that a few publishers were mildly interested in (translation: they were nice enough to write back to me). Anyway an 18 y/o girl sang it for me, thats her 3rd take (drives me nuts that talented young people have no drive). I have some different ideas on how to sing it, need that "right" voice. Take a listen to it, let me know if you are interested. I am no pro, just a hobbiest at this.

Send me the words, I like it. And I think I know what you mean....My voice has a slightly bluesier? sound quality to it. I don't really know how to record myself. But I am sure if I play around with this computer...who knows :?

Cool, my 16 track 'studio in a box' is off being fixed, when I get it back I'll upload a music track, give you the lyrics. I havent tried it yet but my little machine for example will hook up to the computer, one can do stuff over the internet. Might be something you might want to look into, you could work with other people from anywhere really. Great voice.

Cost on something like that??? Hubby is supportive but I am not sure how much. 8) But seriously....if the price for something like that is reasonable, I am sure that won't be an issue. He is SERIOUSLY into computers (he is a programer) and likes gadgets...ya never know.

I've got a BOSS BR1600CD, cost $1400 but there is a 1200 and used ones for less. I'm sure you'll hear a lot of different opinions about various brands but I love this thing. (not sure if my wife does)

I just looked up what you are talking about on the net. Not sure if that is something I want for just vocals. Gonna check things out and look around for something that works on the computer.

In theory you can download tracks onto it, it has so many functions, cut and paste, vocal tools and effects, cd burner etc, really a vast amount of features that make it a great toy for the money. I just think its easier to use a purpose built machine, and cheaper then buying all the things neccessary to do the same thing. Just take hubby down to the local music store, you can sell him on it.
