General Music Chat

I'm a newbie, sorry, another dumb question. First and only song I uploaded, said It was successfull yet doesnt show up. Lists it too on manage menu. Does it just take a while? I'm trying not to be one of THOSE people who have nothing up.

It has to be the right formatt..I look at your audio/video link and it says its a WMA file ...It need s to be an MP3..Do ya have the codecs to do that?

Thanks for replying. I'm new with technology. A bad worm crashed my first computer (didnt know you had to have a firewall, DO NOW!!!). So I formatted computer and have basic operating system (with a firewall), no fancy programs. Is there a cheap/easy way to convert music file to mp3. Thanks for any help

Most of the recording software Ive seen , even the free ones have the codecs for MP3 formatt..If ya want, Ill see if Cool Edit will re-formatt it for ya (If "SHE'LL let me do it..shes been a BAD GIRL of late) so you can get it on there till ya figure out your software sitch..Let me know..

We'll see, its listed as an mp3 now, i grabbed a free converter off the internet, only converts 2/3 song. Have to pay for whole song conversion. Song still doesnt show up, I'll give it a minute

When you convert it cant be more than a total of 10Mb's per song.
Some of the conversion systems will let you shorten or decrease the number of Mb's as you move from WAV to MP3.

Dam if I know, its around 2.5mb of mp3. Successfully uploaded in various ways. still no player.

Huh, damn, mine showup immediatly. Got to be a step your missing somewhere. The boys on the mothership will help you if we cant figure it out. They have been very helpfull to me. I feel they truly want to run a good site here.

It is a great site, I cant imagine these sh*theads complaining about it. I'll just drink a beer or two and think it over where I might have went wrong

Its 8:37 EDT and your tune is playin fine in my player..It does cut off at 2:03 though...Pretty good mix...Thought the vocals coulda been alittle hotter..Yeah , most 3-4 min tunes are 3-4 MB so ALL of it shoulda have loaded...??? hmmm Keep workin on it..

All it took was a couple beers and my wife pointing out that I needed to check the box in mp3 conversion. Shaaaatup up ok, I could have done it myself

Thanks kid (great banjo), and sanshouheil (sorry i'm a screaming atheist but I dont need to convert anybody). It feels good to hear a few warm words. I didnt pick up music really till I was 35, (played piano as a kid though). Its tough but i love it. I got total respect for those that write and put it out there.
