Hey Zip...I know how to fix cables. It just pisses me off that I would have to, esp when they're supposedly "lifetime guaranteed." (I did mention I used to make my own, didn't I? LOL)

I used to break them in all sortsa places, too. I think it's cuz ppl like to help you wrap 'em up so damned tight that they even break in the middle, sometimes. I've quit allowing ppl to help me with my stuff.

When I get a cable that breaks after a few months, that tells me it's crap, & I toss it. Makes no cents to me to keep crappy accessories. It's too frustrating & wastes too much time. Nothing worse than getting all set up & having to search through it all to see which cable went bad this week. I've worked with far too many bands where they don't even separate the bad cables from the good. ("Put 'em all in the milk crate & I'll check them out later.") You end up spending an extra half hour setting up doing it that way. Mic cords are the worst for this. Esp when they start out sounding fine until a little vibration causes them to short out during a performance.

Toss the crap, I say! Pay the $ for better equipment, & it'll pay off in the end, more often than not.
