Who told you it was a cyst?
Who told you it was inoperable?
Have you had CT or MRI?
Get a specalist opinion. And then Another. Dont let them just blow you off.
If its important to you find a Dr who thinks its important too.
May be they are right. Maybe not. You owe it to yourself to persue this farther.

I had nodules once. Flooked up my vox for about 6 months, with this curious doubling effect that was really hard to control at any volume.
It was pure hell. I was very fortunate that I didn't do permanent damage to myself, but I was working a bit too hard at the time, & pushing it when I should have been resting. There's that saying "make hay while the sun shines," & I felt I had to work as hard as I could while I had the work. After a bit, your body will just make you take the breaks that it needs.
I wish you the best of luck with this, as it is a very serious problem for a singer, & scary as hell, too.
