I'm typing a song I wrote and for a particular chord there are like 4 different names and none are even close to what I was thinking.

Here are the chords I'm using in the song

I'm using http://www.jguitar.com to get the chord names. I was thinking the first chord would be some sort of Em chord but an E variation didn't show up. So how do i know which of the other names to use???

Play the chord.
Now, play the note the bass player will / would play.
I'd use that note as the root . . .

http://chordfind.com/ is a great resource, and it offers a reverse chord find... so to answer your question, that first chord is somethin' weird, I don't know what you'd call it. the second chord is just a variation on a c major 7 chord, the third is A Sustain, and the last is G add9

*shrug* now to me, all of that means next to nothing. But if you're playing a funny chord and you don't know what it is, you can always use that site.

thanks for the input. I've been using chordfind and I like it pretty good. I've been trying to get all my songs typed up with the appropriate chord above the correct lyric and with the chord tab typed up at the bottom. So chord find is really helping me with the correct chord name.

That first chord is an E minor add9...second inversion, as the fifth (B) is the lowest note
