This sucks, it skips and I can't make out anything. Same with your video you did with Jimmydanger, it skips, couldn't check it out. It's this machine I'm pretty sure, and haven't figured out why yet, may be the older version of Flash player. I'm trying to get the newer version of Flash, see if that will help.

I'd like to get a plain jane sound file of it, if it's something I can play I'd need it anyway to listen to while trying to pick it out. I'll see if I can get the video to work so I can at least listen, I like fingerpicking and do a lot of it, I've written a couple of songs fingerpicking and do most of my practicing/doodling at home that way.

Still gotta remember to check the mp3 file of your song with Jimmy too, I keep forgetting about it or have other things to do, right now I'm trying to get Flash and some sort of decent antivirus that will work on this thing, it's not easy to find software for ME any more and that's what my laptop runs...but so far it's doing well, ME has been installed for 5 years that I know of, I got it used and it's still running quite well. No problems with viruses and spyware, I've been a computer tech for 10 years and know how to spot or avoid that kind of thing, I ran my win98 machine online for 2 years with no antivirus and no trouble, 5 years for this one. The only time it picked up any spyware was when I loaned it to a friend while I fixed her machine.

I'll keep trying, I'd like to at least hear it...

The one in my profile isn't working right now, but either one of these should, both web mail. ISP shut me down because I was too broke to pay the bill, hope to get that fixed soon.

paleopete AT myrealbox DOT com

corwin_1955 AT yahoo DOT com

no spaces in either, all lower case, myrealbox preferred but I don't know if it will handle files, should though.

Been meaning to check your profile for the song with Jimmy, just haven't done it yet. Player here on the site works fine and I can listen, if it's set for download I can drop it on a USB drive and listen on the home computer with a good set of speakers. Right now I'm on my laptop with really cheezy speakers. It works but the sound really leaves something to be desired to say the least...

could try r-click on the image and goto the lil file tab and adjust the buffer size
could be that yer graphics card sucks
could be virus-scanner settings

-there is a addon for firefox that will allow you to capture the video and save to disk... this will def fix it... just google "firefox addon youtube"

SO far no luck, changed cache and it still skips, must be the old graphics chip in this thing. It's a P-II 266, running winderz ME, but haven't had any trouble with it at all in 6 years so it's doing fine otherwise. I'll check out the firefox plugin, never use any of those but that one might be worthwhile.

Neanderpaul... If you can put a mp3 copy on your profile I can download it, or email it to e and I'll see if it's something I can handle. With the skipping I can't make out what it sounds like at all, so I still have no idea if I can try and play it or not.

Did listen to your song on your profile, Nothing but Wrong I think? Can't remember the exact name...If that's the one you and Jimmy did it sounds pretty good, not my kind of thing, I'm more of a classic rock guy, but a good song and seems to be a good recording but I'm listening on dinky laptop speakers, it probably sounds lots better on a decent sound system. Good voice, good guitar sound, well done. I'll try to check out some more later on but don't have a lot of time lately, I'm getting online before work at the motel where I'm maintenance guy, I have about an hour or so usually.

Pete I emailed the Elliot Smith finger picking song called "Angeles" to you. It came from thepleased at gmail dot com. I also sent "nothing but wrong" The song Jimmy and I did. Good luck!

I think the Jimmy Danger song sounds like Black Sabbath and what could be more Classic rock than that?

I think I see the problem... open up the case and feed the mouse that turns the tread-wheel...

Even my net surfing computer has a p3 1gig!

you prob don't need much processing power to surf the net but geez, even if you had two of those and setup a dual proc you'd still be chugging along in the slow lane. I'm surprised you're not using eniac over there. (tubes everywhere)
Please tell me u r using that thing to record music... that'd be nothing short of a miracle.

Nope, not using it to record, I use a P-III 1.4GHz machine w/ win98 and 512 RAM for that, this is usually just a internet machine, while the home dial up connection is down.

Paul: Just got your email, downloaded it and will be checking it out later today. thanks,

Pete

Wow...this one is a tough chord progression to follow. I've listened to it a bunch of times, probably a dozen times last night alone, and have started picking out the chords, trying to play along a bit. the fingerpicking shouldn't give me too much trouble, although I might not be able to exactly duplicate it, I should be able to get really close. He's strumming and fingerpicking, keeping the bass line going is probably going to be my toughest chore, after I get to the point I can actually follow the chord progression.

It's not often I run across a song that takes me more than a week to cover but this one might take a bit longer, it's an unusual progression with a couple of unexpected changes, and I'm still trying to figure out the middle part.

This is kind of like John Mayer's stuff to me, I don't care much for the overall song itself, but the guitar work is terrific. Good voice too. Just like Mayer, I could go all day without his songwriting but the guy picks up a guitar and he's just a monster player, I love every note...This song is like that. Song is just not that impressive to me but the guitar work is excellent, really good player, interesting stuff...it'll be a challenge, but I think once I figure out the middle section and get the chord `progression committed to memory I should be able to do it, but it might take a couple of weeks, I have to get my fingers to do some things they don't want to do and get accustomed to a new chord or two...

Cool project, nice challenge...I hope I'm up to it...
