You have a good voice.

You have a KILLER falsetto, great range and amazing control of it.

Listened to the songs and watched the video on MySpace. You are a good performer.

You need better original material, and you need to get a decent demo done in a studio. Some of the songs on MySpace were not recorded or mixed very well. You need to take the bad ones off.

You are in a heavily populated genre. It is going to be difficult for you to rise above the rest, even though you are talented. If you go for it solo, you need a better, more original look. Something that is unusual or stands out, whether in dress or hairstyle or both. The competition is insane. You need to stand out, in order to separate from the pack.

My suggestion is to try and get a role as a back up singer/dancer for an established artist and learn the ropes and network through the connections you will make, until you get your shot. Also, audition for things like Diddy's "Making the Band" and similar competitions. You are good enough to go through enough rounds to get some attention and experience from it.

Either way you go, build up a resume and get professionally done demos, and a professional press kit.

Get your ducks in a row.

ALL people get opportunities in life. The successful ones are READY for the opportunity when it presents itself.

Finally, work. Work hard. You may need to consider relocating to a major market to get some of these chances. Make whatever sacrifices are necessary. If it is important enough to believe in, it is important enough to work for.

A famous saying to remember...

"Unsuccessful people seek pleasing methods. Successful people seek pleasing results."

I predict within a few years nobody will even remember who Amy Winehouse is. Later...

Oh they will. She'll break the record in exiting and re-entering a rehab in one day. Then she'll OD and will be held as an idol for OD-ing.
Go, media!

Watch his video on MySpace a good ways through. He has an amazing falsetto voice, hits some crazy highs and just nails them, boom, right on pitch, no slurring. That takes some control.

Excellent! Amazing voice. As Craig said you're in an over saturated genre with a lot of competition but you have the right tools to make it. I think your one of the best new young Hip Hop artists I've seen lately on the web. With the right people behind you I think you will do well.
