Hey guys it's been awhile. The band has been pretty busy so far this spring/summer doing shows and battle of the bands.

We got big news yesterday!

We are booked for Rockapalooza in Jackson MI playing with In This Moment, Fixer and Keith Caputo. OMG we are stoked, In This Moment is one of our favorite bands and personally my favorite female vocalist.

We can't wait!! :D

That's right.

It's hard to stick with a band and deal with everyones sh*t.

I can tell some good stories about the last few months, here's the two toppers...

We were trying to get in this show called the Summer of Mayhem, we have a nice press-kit made and our guitarist was supposed to deliver it to the agent then he just disappears. We havent seen him in 3 months now. We missed our chance on that show and had to hire a new guitar player. His sh*t is still at our practice pad and everything. I guess he is locked up in his house in some kind of depression or something...

So we hire this new kid, he is only 20 and he thinks he's a rockstar..

Granted he picked up our songs very fast and he IS good... but he lacks a lot of experience.

We're doing this show last weekend and he breaks a string in the middle of a song, so he hops off stage, and borrows a guitar from another band, jumps back on and starts playing with this guitar that is not even close to our tuning.... OMG I about drop-kicked his ass off the stage, how retarded. He totally f-d up that song. (which sounds totally fine with me playing by myself)

I chewed his ass pretty good over it later though.

It takes a lot of patience to stick with it. I've been on the verge of insanity with it all quite a few times. lol

Dude. Guitarists bust strings all the time. Easy on him, man. If he's good and you're comfortable altogether, don't drive him away from your band. Just sayin'.
Keep rockin'!

Glad too hear good things going on for you. And yes playing someone elses axe out of tune is not cool but you got to give the energy and dedication he showed ( if not judgment) some credit.

well,

I think he should've had spare strings, or a spare axe..

We play drop tuning, I would never expect someone elses guitar to be in tune to us.

It was just the fact that he didnt check it, he just started playin and made the song sound like hell, and he wasn't going to stop till we all turned to him and told him to tune the damn thing lol...

I hear ya. It's pissy when all you need is "Drop D" and you don't have another guitar in case of emergency.

I mean, I think most any reasonably frequent player has more than just 1 electric guitar sitting around. To set it up is, "contingency planning" and is just plain using foresight, as opposed to hind sight.

Seems like the same argument about carrying spare tubes if you use a tube amp.

Fast Ry,

It's always good news to hear that people are out gigging! :D

As for your personnel problems, it comes with the turf.

Banding , as the term implies, means working and playing with other people. It's not always easy. Unless everyone is on a similar level of maturity in a group, and are "all on the same page" , then some leadership is in order. Perhaps it's time to start "calling the shots", and find out every-body's true level of commitment to the group.

Keep On rockin!

We fired him after our gig last saturday.

He wouldn't listen to anyone... He always ran off after the show, NEVEr helped load up.

My personal bitch was he would get up on stage before the set and start playing our music by himself... Even after I told him to stop repeatedly. That really is a peeve of mine.

Anyways, we're back to a 4pc and loving it. Practice is actually tighter now. He didn't really bring anything to the band at all except his long hair.

4-0 he's out.
