I pulled away from him a long time ago...after trying to talk him into doing more positive stuff. Didn't work, of course, but at least I think I did my bit. So did Dddonnie (the band leader), for that matter. Eh...some ppl just won't be helped.

He works in 3 bands, now, & I can't for the life of me figure out how. He puts forth so little effort & so much BS & fails to deliver so often. Eh - who ever said life was s'posed to be fair, right?

I dunno why I bother anymore. Guess he's so much fun when he's drunk, maybe?

It ain't much fun to play with him. I can tell you that.

I have GOT to quit this effin' whining.

Hey philby,
From 15 to 23, I was in literally dozens of bands. Each and every one of them had at least one member with dependency issues. No big surprise that each and every one of those bands ended in dismal failure.

I regret not being more selective back in those days. But you see where I'm going with this... You know this guy will eventually drag you all down with him. You (all) need to confront him and have him commit to going clean, getting AA help, and whatever you can do to help him, but if he ain't on board 100% or falls off the wagon, you have to make it clear that he has no 2nd chances. Clean up or GTFO, you know?

Sometimes the only solution is tough love, often followed by exile.

Or death and dismemeberment. Its the real deal in real life. This aint TV land ya know. Drunk drivers kill others more than they kill themselves.
Jail no. Off with the head! Put it a pickle jar on the bar he was allowed to walk out of. I drink, but I wont drive and drink. Got zero sympathy. Ive had to take care of one to many mangled bodies and fried brains. Drink all you want, do all the drugs you can hold ok, Hurt someone else impalement on the side of the road.

I quite agree, sans. Pay for what you do.

Kramer, I think we're having trouble finding that guitarist cuzza the genre we play, & that is a shame. Too many ppl look at it as a style from a bygone era, but in reality, we aren't truly a rockabilly band. It's just the closest thing I can think of to describe us - you know - rock meets country meets blues = rockabilly in most ppl's minds. We have a heck of a lot of energy, & we need a versatile, capable, dependable guitarist.

Guitarists are hard to find if you aren't doing metal or classic rock, around here, I guess. As yet, we haven't even had anyone ask to audition, though we advertise here & @ CL.

We don't really play out often enough for me, anyway.

I'd like to get something else going, too. I miss the old hippie jam band I was in. GREAT music but terrible politics for me. We did have a good following, though.

On topic,
I must confes that I don't know what ever became of the guy that snuffed that guy. Sorry Mr.Mike.

Off topic,
As far as getting other people to play with that have NO bad habits? ....
You just gotta learn to live with them, kick thir asses outa' the band, or simply "hang it up" yourself. There's three tough decisions for y'all! :(
