What pedal can anyone recommend for a clean sustain and to boost notes where false harmonics are applied without blasting the overal normal notes.

My first thought would be to get a limiter. I have a compressor built into my amp but that is used mostly designed as a protection peak/limiter device circuit to even out string attack.

For clean sounds I have an old Boss compressor, I think its a CS 3 that does a good job. Lately Im just depending on the amps eq for clean stuff, but the Boss will even everything out, but if you go to radical with the threshold you get that sucking sound. For distorted sounds and solos I still use a TS 9 tube screamer.

Ive never cared for those built in compressors.

Good Luck

Sorry I just realized you play bass. I used to use an Alessis micro compressor to smooth out my bass. I wanted to tone it down some when I slaped the strings to kill the spikes and maintain an even level.
