Hey everyone! I've got a bunch of ideas recorded with Cubase LE, but I can't seem to convert the projects into mp3 format so I can start to upload them to my page here. It's kind of hard for me to believe that the program wouldn't have that capability built into it, but unfortunately it doesn't. Can anyone please help me out? Thank you very much! :D

There's a free program out there that will convert most formats to mp3's, and vice versa, I think I found it just by googling "free cd to mp3 converter". It does like 20 formats or something. Good stuff.

Kramerguy: You freakin rock brother! I found it and looks to me like it should work perfectly. I'll be trying it tonight after my boy hits the sack. Thank you very, very much! On another note: you'd mentioned George's music in another thread and I was wondering if you're near State College or something. Back in the early 90's there was a George's music there and my old friend Vince worked there. He's the one that hired me into Hanover Fist at the time. We had a very good and tight setup with that one. I've still been unable to replicate that awesome combination since I've moved back up North. Most of the dudes around here "think" that they can play, but have never actually been in an area where there's a deep talent pool and if they were, they'd never get a gig anyway and would end up drowning...

Thanks again!!! :D

You can also get Audacity which is freeware, and that will also convert your WAV files to MP3.

Just export from CuBase into a WAV format, and then drag and drop it into Audacity. Once in Audacity, you can then tweak things further if you like, i.e. increase the volume or decrease, add effects if you still need them, and then export as MP3 from Audacity. You can also change the bitrate before you do, to lower file-size if you need to.

The George's down my way is the 'first' one, in Spring City. Nicest and the most helpful guys in the world. I actually feel bad when I buy stuff from other places. But it's sometimes necessary.

I'd like to truly thank both of you guys for the help and I got Switch and Audacity. Didn't have much time to play with them last night though, but tonight's Friday night and I'll be at it for the better part of the night. I did try Switch on a short piece and it worked perfectly! I went to the Cubase LE help forums before I asked the question here and all I got was a long drawn-out explanation of how to use iTunes to do the same thing that Switch does although Switch is much faster and more simple to use. You guys helped me out more than the company's own forums! I now see more and more advantages to being a member here and I'll do my best as well to help out with any questions or problems that people may have. Thanks again!!!

Can't wait to hear some of your stuff. I use Cubase too. Mainly just to archive ideas. The damn thing seems to fill my computer with a Godawful amount of files. So I use it sparsely.

I have a sample on my profile called Throw the hammer. I just plugged my guitar straight into my Alesis (w/ Cubase) and went at it. There really isn't a very good distortion sound built into Cubase. But then again, I'm used to massive tube sounds. Mic'ing an amp is the way to go in that department. The clean stuff sounds great though. It's really good for vocals as well.

Let us know when you have something up. We all love killer guitar playing around here.
