I would suggest going to your local music store and see if they have a bulletin board, talk to the guitar tech or amp techs, these guys ussually are aware of who is playing and what type of music they play. Most citys have some sort of underground music type publication that has band want ads, craigslist has a musician section, if you want to work in clubs get out there and see the bands that are playing and let them know you are available, they may need someone in the future or know of others putting bands together. You might make up a little business card that says what you have to offer. Seems more professional than a bar napkin.
I have met 3 musicians off this site in the last 6 monthes, I have met 2 thru a bulletin board in a Guitar Center and I have made a couple of contacts on Craigslist.

Bingo John. I met a lady this weekend who is over one of the "Cowboy Churches" That are gaining popularity with the C&W crowd. She was talkin about booking acts for their "service".
I offered our band as a possability (can just see it now
) but I didnt have a business card. Going to remedy that situation this week.
She asked if we play any country music. I told her we play IN the country and you can hear us all the way to town

I certainly recommend sticking around here, in addition to the other suggestions. There are a LOT of WV musicians floating around here...might mean a little traveling, but may be worth your while. Talk to these folks, too, there are a ton of good people on this site, and they can offer advice and maybe send something your way.
Good Luck!
