By the way it is politically correct to be able to say it again!

Glen, It's sad that you sully what I imagine are sincere wishes for a Merry Christmas by beating your drum and getting on a soapbox politicizing yet again about the "war on Christmas".

As i see it...

It is ALWAYS okay to wish someone who you know CELEBRATES Christmas... a "Merry Christmas".

And that's exactly how i handle it. I always wish people who I know CELEBRATE Christmas a "Merry Christmas".

But out of respect, I don't automatically assume EVERYONE celebrates Christmas since i KNOW many do not. Growing up in NYC, I learned early on that many do not. Now, if I ran into you and didn't KNOW that you celebrated Christmas.....and so I wished you "Happy Holidays"....it's your choice to become cranky, offended, and annoyed by that, or you can simply accept it for what it is....I simply don't know your faith, and so I won't automatically ASSUME that you celebrate that holiday. Pretty simple stuff. Where's the offense?

I was brought up to respect other's faiths and beliefs.....it has nothing do w being "PC", but everything to do with respect.

For those here who celebrate Christmas, please accept my sincere wishes for a Merry Christmas.....and those who don't, please have a happy and safe holiday season. (and yeah...those in the former group...YOU have a happy and safe holiday season, too!)

i suggested no such thing....i only suggest that those intelligent enough to recognize that not everyone CELEBRATES Christmas because everyone ISN'T a Christian....might rethink why someone might offer up "Happy Holidays" or "Seasons Greetings" and why they shouldn't feel put upon, or get those nose out of joint......

for those not intelligent enough to grasp something as simple as that, and always in need of something to complain about, and butt heads over....by all means, continue with the chip on your shoulder and bitch about the so called "war on Christmas".
