If by "this place" you mean the forum, I have to agree. But if by "this place" you mean BandMix as a networking site to find possible collaborators or bandmates, I've found it very disappointing. It's very difficult to navigate. After two months, I decided that it wasn't worth the expense to be a "premium" member.
Your mileage may vary.
If you're looking for a band or band members and find some possibilities in the profile listings (that are current), then it can be worthwhile to pay the premium for a month to contact them.
the whole world is becoming ruined, if you want my opinion, I agree many websites have died off, and if you scrutinize it, it seems the more silly, or superficial the website the higher the cult following and popularity..at the swap meet today, set up across from Lynard Dylan, and was a great day to get off the internet and talk with real people, and getting feedback from real music appreciative "fans" .. a guy bought a set of ROYAL WORCESTER horseshoes today and had forgotten his face until he stated he remembered me wowing him several times playing guitar as he passed by me in the past at the swap meet, guess he is a fan cause he actually has heard me and is honest and was not hiding his true nature cUSE OF some sort of axe to grind, or because my personality does not live up to his expectations, he was just an admirer of a good guitarist and was not playing games not divulging that true fact because of other reasons..LOL...
other institutions are dying off, heard today the Woods Supermarket parking lot at the north end used as a swap meet on Wednesdays has closed, and a Dollar General Store will be sitting ther upon completion..
Fair Play swap meet is dying too, either because the corporations are sucking all the last discretionary dollars out of the class of people that live in this region or it is because habits are changing? don't know yet other than people don't buy or refuse to pay a fair price for an iten a vendor is attempting to sell..too many times a vendor is asked to lower their price to an absurd level and vendors will stop coming, maybe it is just internet online sales that is causing J.C. Penney's Sears Macy's etc. tpo close stores, and the swap meet phenomena is tailing their coat tails into oblivion? .. I only sold $273.00 of merch today when I averaged 350.00 to 400.00 in the past?? some of us today attributed it to too many vendors today making it thin for everybody..
this place is ruined Part 2 is not a fad but a realization nothing stays the same, even relationships with people whom you found out later to be a ravenous wolf inside sheeps clothing pretending to be the good guy duping others into misconceptions..
