Does anybody have experience with Mesa Boogie amps? I played a Lonestar Special 410 in the Hollywood store recently and still can't get it out of my head! A bit pricey, but not so bad...I currently use a Peavey Classic 50 212 that I've had since '95 and have always thought it is a great amp...just time for something new. I use it with a Gretsch 6120JR and an Epi LP 56 Goldtop with P90's and I think the sustain and mid-range of the Mesa would be awesome with these 2.

Sorry man I got no exp with Mesa's. They do tend to be a little pricy and have heard other players say too much bass. But lots o people swear by em. The ol boy who owns and does repairs at one of our local shops said they are very well made.

Love 'em! Love 'em! Love 'em!

Until it's the end of the night & I gotta carry the damned thing out...then I HATE 'em!

Great tone, imo. Wonderful road amp.

I've owned a few and have a love/hate relationship with them.

Once in a while they can be a bit glitchy or tempermental. Sometimes you'll need to tweak a bit to find your tone. However, when you find your tone.......there's almost nothing like it!

It does have a bit more bottom end then say a peavey or fender, although I do like those amps as well.

It all comes down to preference really. The tech department is usually very helpful and accomodating should you experience a technical glitch.

I dont think you will be unhappy with a Mesa. Just as some say here it might take a while to get you tone set. I play a Triple Rec and it is very bassy, in fact I generally roll the bass almost all the way off, but I am using a 4x12 cab.

Take that guitar with p-90s to the store and play on the amp before you buy it.
