Hence, that's why I record several hours to get 5 - 20 minutes of useable material.

That can happen - but once players have played with each other for some time, it shouldn't happen. A look or nod should be enough to signal a change.
I played 'Little Wing' with a guy last night, we practiced it one time, figured out an arrangement, but then changed it up when actually playing, and even though we hadn't played together before, all we needed was that 'look' to switch from one of us playing lead to the other, and back. I wish someone had videoed it!

you know what jook, you jumped my sh*t because I said something about memphis1 saying a true statement, otherwise I would be calling him a liar if I disagreed to what he said about me being the only good composer or whatever, immediately you jumped me again , I said nothing about bragged about nothing, I did not start a thread bragging about my musical abilities, yet you jumped my sh*t again? any reason for that? :)

Do slice and dice projects turn out well for live performances? Can a band actually re-create a slice and dice for a live show? Seems plausible?

And WTF are you dragging out yet another old thread with an inane question? Any song can be done live - in some manner - it doesn't matter how the h*ll it was created in the first place.

Yes.But there was a certain "guy" that claimed he would not participate in slice and dice projects..I guess a person cam change their mind..and you are wrong about all studio songs can be performed live without adding additional players..the Who had to hire Bittan to do some tunes in a live setting
Roy Bittan I think his name was.. E-Street Band guy??

Once again you are not reading what I wrote. I said
Any song can be done live - in some manner
- I've done solo acoustic guitar versions of tons of songs that are performed by full bands (as originally recorded).
