to keep it from getting buried on previous page here's the link again. it's all set up and ready to go w download enabled...

https://soundcloud.com/user-318778600/rgs-cm7-blues-pass-around

and if i may...

i'm gonna suggest that whoever wants to step up next, lays in the melody (and the head if someone wants to add one after the "bass head") BEFORE the rhythm gtr (s) are added.

i think the soloist(s) should be able to dictate how they want to phrase and address the changes w/o it being defined or dictated by the chords and rhythms of the backing part(s).

there's also enough room for a few solos.....first solo might go up til the drum break, and the next might pick up just after it at around 2:30.

well, I have always thought the horns give the melody line in a lot of cases with jazz/blues? so then maybe horns should be added next? since P-guy would like(and rightly so) the melody line next..just a suggestion

hey , can somebody help a brother out? for some reason I can not import the WAV file titled RG's Cm7 blues from soundcloud into my clips or anything on the Ableton Lite 9 recording software..you know how you drag files and once the file is near where it's to be imported the icon turns into a white circle with a + sign in it, spent hours at Ableston forums looking for an answer and if I had not tried another WAV file in my documents to see others worked and could be imported I might have still been trying to get it to work, instead of the white circle with a + sign in it when ready to drop it sticks with the black circle with a squiggly line thru it not allowing import? any fix you know of? I even downloaded the file twice thinking maybe it was corrupted but 2nd attempt/file ain't working either? in advanced settings on the file I unchecked blocked from another computer setting but did not help, the administrator change did not help, the regedit change did not fix it, is soundcloud doing something to the files?

oh, I just noticed something, those files I imported are Wave Sound files and not WMA files? cool.. unless somebody is on here with a quik answer, I will be googling it, maybe a media human converter can fix this ?.. doesn't look like WMA files are importable into Ableton Live Lite 9.0 ..making progress maybe :)

well, I have 1 ea. media human converter and it changes eveything into M4A files, looks like it is not going to work importing into Ableton either, can somebody get me a RG's Cm7 blues file I can import into my Ableton rig? a WAV file I know works, don't know if mp3 files do, if not I will be hunting down a converter that works :( :o :P

yeah, mp3 files are importable, would prefer a WAV file .. :o M4A and WMA files don't..got to looking closer at the file logos/icons and although the WAV file is a musical notation note in blue, the WMA file is also but has a smallish thing sitting beside it, was not looking close enough and not really aware file types can be so critical to software working, maybe CuBase or Reaper, ProTools etc. does not care and accepts all types of audio files? Ableton doesn't

Dayne, this is a pretty great resource when you have questions about home digital recording. With a little digging you can find just about anything:

Jook. What do you think of recording a guitar solo on one of the 3 nearly identical verse/ chorus parts in my RGMix track I sent you and then Mark and Cajundaddy could do the other 2? Only way I could participate in this activity right now.

getting closer to liftoff, but I have no where to even start thinking of a creative piece of music.. might be days till I stumble upon something remotely musical and harmonious with planetguy and RG, but been running through some riffs some sounding ok,

how do I know which envelope is Planetguy and which i RG Mix, no labels on tape attached?

somebody just bought a White Freightliner hood emblem for 48 bucks need to ship it, but I don't feel like packing it tonight, having too much fun running into roadblocks with recording software technology..LOL!! :D  that sucker is at least 40 years old, White Freightliner became just Freightliner in mid 1970's :D

my plan is to mess around with riffs, on standby waiting for the melody line and other parts from other participants, I mean it when I say I would be happy just to supply claves or woodblock sounds and other sonic textures, a lot of those rolling stones tunes were having neat percussion instruments güiro and weird tunings on guitars..
