I immigrated from Canada with my family when I was 10 years old, legally, of course. 16 years ago it cost me over $2000 to legally have my (now) wife immigrate into the US and get a green card to work.

I was born in the province of Quebec, about an hour east of Montreal. The town is now known as Bromont, where the 1976 Olympic equestrian events were held. Lived 3 years (college) in Montreal.

Mike ... I thank you for your response. Montreal, Mt. Pilot, St. Catherines Street, etc. I played there as well as Quebec City. One of my best memories in the World will be The Winter Carnival in Quebec City. The supermarket French helped me alot when I moved to Europe and spent a year in France. I shall always remember Quebec fondly ...my first real Love was a magnificent petite French Canadian from Quebec ... Mariana. She kept appearing at our gigs all over the East coast ...Antigonish, Shediac, Dartmouth etc. where ever we were. I tried to speak to her after the gigs but she would disappear just before we finished. That made her even more attractive and mysterious and appealing.

Finally I could take it no more and just walked off the stage and directly to her in the middle of a song. The band was laughing and grinning and took an unannounced break. To make it short ... it was intense... she was on her last holiday as she was diagnosed with leukemia and her Parents asked her what she wanted and she just wanted to take a trip. She heard us and followed us. After we "met" we stuck like glue and when she had to leave it was one of the hardest things i ever have done letting her go away ... forever and knowing it. We wrote and spoke on the phone until she got bad and even then she made me promise not to come and to always remember her as she was when we were together . I get tears everytime I think of it, even now. She was like a delicate little Doll ... I started writing songs then. I always think of that as a most precious gift from her to me which will live forever like our Love. The French Canadians havce always appealed to me because of their "feelings" and "Passions" ... much like the Frernch in Europe. So now you know i was not always an Asshole.

Where did you play in Antigonish - the bowling alley? I hitchhiked to Nova Scotia in 75, to visit a couple of girls who lived in Aspen (about 10 miles south of Antigonish). I had planned on staying 5 days but after 3 days, the place was just too boring, and I hitched back to Massachusetts. I had been there one other time a couple of years before, too.

"am purrr" Ha Ha ....Mike Let me check some dates and i will get back to you. I saw the bridge get taken out the first time i was there, by piles of pulp wood coming down the river from a flood caused by a hurricane ... interesting times.

I can barely speak English! The year we moved (1965) was the first year they started teaching French to all English-speaking students, so I got 4 weeks of nouns. Then 2 years of high school french, which didn't help at all. My wife is French Canadian, thgouh, so when we go 'north of the border', I let her do the talking!

I am trying to finish a Post, one I promised Dayne a while back and in it I speak of something which I would like your opinion on. It is the Biblical Quote which refers to there being much talk of peace and about how when this is done , look for War.

It seems it could be quite possible that Trump's Rise could be involved in all this to me at least. He has managed against "all odds" to beat and appear to "win" the Presidency. He has the ear of the people and is similar to The black Messiah in that respect with his promises and popularity. He has nurtured Hope even more so amongst the population regardless of colour. All it would take is Assassination to utterly change everything in the flash of an eye ... the eye upon the triangle and pyramid ... the eye of evil. There would be massive civil unrest ... an "emergency" to some and this would result in not only Civil War but WW III or perhaps Armageddon. Just s random thought a Vampire had a while ago previous to the "election". Of course if any others feel like seriously weighing in you are most welcome to.
