Thanks a ton man! I write most of it on guitar, or I'll take ideas from the guitar, but as far as creating the song, I have to use VSTs due to my recording limitations.

Someday I hope that changes though.

Drums are the only thing that is 100% me.

Like PG, not a big fan of the genre but the shots of the kick show that you are concentrating on your VG ability to roll off 32nds w/ your feet. I see these as 'drummer's embellishments'?? I'm old school and drumming is just a basic necessity for me but I can see where you're coming from. These embellishments are your 'stamp' on your playing. I get that.

But I 'bet the bank' your approach would change if you were playing w/ a few musicians in a live setting. Like opening up a bit w/ the toms and laying back a bit w/ the kick (or mixing up the 2 and creating complex tom & kick patterns?). Not a put-down @ all, just an observation from an old fart.

Yeah, you're definitely right. It certainly stems from me being mainly a drummer, and being a one-man-band of sorts. I'd cool my jets if I were playing with others.

Also, I spent too much money on my kit to not be out front with it, hah.
