Hope you guys will just kiss and make up!
I haven't been able to listen to much of other folk's music recently because I've been super busy working on my next album release - I'm being
super critical on the mixes this time. Listened to all the songs with headphones the other night, found one more 'noise' in a song, last night I isolated it to a lip-smack or mic touch on one of the vocal tracks - unfortunately a critical one that couldn't just be muted, but the miracle of computer DAW recording, I was able to copy from another chorus in the song and replace the bad section seamlessly.
I've been working on the CD cover art, too, but can't complete the back cover or inside art until the song order is complete, so that's another thing I've been listening to - which songs work best in what order. The production end of music release is time consuming!
I hadn't written any new songs for 2 months - until this week. The 'prompt' from the last songwriter circle meeting (which I missed) was to take an existing song's "hook" and make your own song out of it - challenging!
I used 'I went down to the crossroad', and came up with a very different type of song on the baritone uke.
